The Charles Schulz Philosophy
(This is marvellous!!  Scroll thru slowly and read carefully to receive and enjoy full effect
)

The  following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the  creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip.

You don't have to actually answer the questions.
Just ponder on them.

Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name  the five wealthiest people in the  world.

2. Name  the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name  the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4  Name  ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name  the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name  the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies..

Awards tarnish..

Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special
.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the
most credentials
, the most money...or the most awards.

They simply are the ones who care the most

Pass this on to those people who have either made a difference in your life,
or whom you keep close in your heart, like I did

'Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.

It's already tomorrow in  Australia   !'

When does age mean this?

Yesterday we meet up with some people we know and they have a daughter who will be 18 in a few months.  So, she hung out with my girls we went to the beach and played around, weather was great.

Several times her parents keep saying I am so glad she is having fun now in a few months she will be 18 adult time to grow up. WHAT?    I looked at both of them finally and said what do you mean by that.

They said well when she turns 18 she is adult. Yes I agree with that.  So, where does it say you can't have fun after that.   They then both said Oldest Wolf Daughter acts to young for her age.  I said what do you mean she said well she is 19 jumping in the ocean waves and laughing not acting like adult.

Ok I am still lost.  Where does it say when you hit the magic number of 18 you can't laugh have fun anymore.  No no don't think so.  Life is to short I told them both.  There is time to be serious and time to have fun.  Right now Oldest Wolf daughter is on break and she is having fun.   I said I am there mother and old enough to know better I have laugh, swim and jump in the waves watch me. I ran to the water and jump and played with the kids.

I came back and said come and join us they said no thank you.

I was lost when we came back home and still am.  They are so serious there is very little laughing because they are adults I think I was told that 50 times yesterday.

So, next time I go out to eat and I see a table of adults and see them laughing does that me they haven't grown up yet?

Or when I go to the beach and see older people in the water does that mean they haven't grown up yet?

Christmas is here.

It seem like we had a long time to get ready for Christmas now its here.  How could that happen? I'm not quit ready for it. But, you know what it will come even if I'm not ready so I better get ready.

This year we decide we do everything different. First it started out with baking we decide we weren't going to bake all that stuff this year so much of it goes to waste and everything is so high now days. We decide we would do a batch at a time.  When that batch is gone then someone in the house gets to pick what they want next and then go from there.  That way nothing goes to waste.  We use to bake a lot and give away but no one wants to eat all that stuff now days.  Everyone is either on a diet or going on one or watching what they eat.  I hate giving people food when you know they wouldn't eat.  So, we decide this year to give our neighbors and those hard to buy for plants or a basket with popcorn and movie in it.   Something we know everyone will enjoy.

For Christmas eve supper we decide to make chicken kabobs and rice along with homemade pumpkin pie.

For Christmas  dinner we decide to make homemade lasagna with garlic toast and a salad.   I know different but my family is not big on turkey and ham all that stuff so we decide to try a whole new route and see how it goes.

Now all the cooking is done lasagna is made ready to finish off tomorrow and kabobs are ready to go on grill later.   The house is all lite up with many different colors, music is playing Jingle Bells, wolf daughters are opening there gifts from each other.  Daddy wolf is taking a nap. Its time to turn tv on and watch  How the Grinch Stole Christmas and get ready for that Jolly Man tonight.

Merry Christmas to all my wonderful blogging friends and family I hope you all enjoy your day with your family and Santa was good to each and everyone of you.

Drama does it end?

Boy, sometimes I wonder. Don't you all?   Why don't people get a life and get on with it.

I remember one time asking my father that question and he said you know what.  What goes around comes around.   There time is coming.

I love facebook well I did I keep in touch with family and meet alot of wonderful new homeschool families and gotten many ideas.   I belong to a group there and when facebook was changing everything I got booted.  I ask the people on there why and no one know.  One girl I talk too wanted to start a new group so I could come back and I told her no not now I wanted to wait and see what happen and facebook was working with me. They are wonderful people.   We found the problem and I went back on.  That girl was gone I ask why and they said she left.   Ok  why?  No one would tell and she wouldn't talk to me.   I don't get it.  If you didn't do anything why did you leave.   No answer.    Why wouldn't you talk to me?  Talk to everyone else but me.  What are you hiding?

That's ok  I gotten over it and gone on with it.  I just know her time is coming  she will get brought down and I will stand back and watch.   I don't feel I did anything.  I try to talk to her to ask what happen but she would never talk.  I was raise if you did nothing wrong then stand up too it.   And that is what I was doing standing my ground.   I will still stand my ground I have nothing to hide. She must as she left and wouldn't talk.

People sometimes never get it.    That's ok  like I said I have gone on and found others who are more honest and understand. To me she was never a friend if she can't talk.   A friend would talk?  Right?

Wonderful day at Wolf Bay High!

Today 17 years ago I was in the hospital giving birth to the most beautiful baby girl ever.   Our youngest Wolf Daughter turned 17 today. Where did the time go?

I remember the day just like it was yesterday. I called daddy wolf at work and told him it was time. Once again we both knew in it wasn't suppose to be. She was suppose to stay in the oven for a 6 more weeks.  But, that's not what she had in mind. She had in mind she was coming Dec. 19, 1994.  She didn't want to miss out on all the Christmas present.   Little turkey.

She a joy to have in our family. Always there to give you a laugh when the day is bad.   Always has a hand if you need help in anything...

So, glad she join our Wolf Family and didn't have to much trouble after she was born. She has had her share of medical trouble but not much keeps this one down. She is fighter.

Happy Birthday Little Wolf Daughter we hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy it.

Try something new!

Friday I wanted to make some scalloped potatoes and ham.  I cut up the potatoes, onions and ham and went into the refrigerator  and found I had no milk.   I didn't want to run to the store, so I thought what can I do with this and make a good meal for the family.

So, I went to the pantry open it up and looked and thought and look and thought more.  I found a large can of cream of mushroom soup and thought wow why not try that.

So, I open the can of cream of mushroom soup put the potatoes, ham and onions in slow cooker, turn slow cooker on low and let it cook for 6 hours. Wow that was the best tasting scalloped potatoes and ham I had in along time.

Think this will be a new meal at Wolf Bay for awhile now.

Lesson Plans!

Today sat and worked on youngest Wolf Daughters lesson plans for after the holidays. Have to do more but think I will put the books away till after Christmas and get busy with our Christmas.

I have a few present left to wrap and some baking to do.  We aren't going to bake much this year. We don't eat that much and so much goes to waste. So, we decide to just bake a batch here and there and when they are gone make another one.

We have so much sweet with all our birthdays and all the cakes we are so tired of it all.

But, we look at it this way if we bake a batch here and there then we will always have something new to eat through out the year.

Any one have any good cookie recipe they would like to share with me. I love to try new ones out.

Homeschool Rocks!

All you wonderful mom's and dad's out there who don't think you can homeschool or been told a million times you can't homeschool and you are going to mess your child up for live.

Take it with a grain of salt and remember you are doing this for your children. Yes, some days are hard.  But, what job isn't..  We don't get paid for our job in money or check but we get paid in love from our children which is worth more then a million dollars.

Today our oldest dd finish her first semester in college taking all math class and walked out with straight A's  the teacher told her they wanted her next semester for a tutor teacher.   Wow my happy wings are out today.

Wow we are so happy here today.  I wish I had a penny for every time I was told I would mess her up.   Oh well what they don't know.

Now we are going to have a birthday then get ready for Santa and enjoy the holidays with our wonderful homeschool family.

Love Rainy Days!

Haven't heard the sound of rain drops on the roofs in along time. Its almost strange.  But, its a wonderful sound to hear.

Love just laying around in pj and reading doing a whole lot of nothing and watching, listening to the rain fall.

I hope we get more rain this winter we were so hot and dry this year it made for a long, long summer.  The heat didn't want to break.. I am sure the electric companies were smiling but I know one thing I wasn't I was crying. Please let me shut this a/c off.

So, a rainy week end.  Getting tons of school things done and ready to go when we start back up after Christmas and New Years.  Going to be fun.   Plan on doing a few field trips to help us understand some of this stuff.  Sometimes hands on works great.

Off to go make Daddy Wolf some brunch.. Happy Sunday enjoy your wonderful day!

Time to get cards out!

With the net, facebook and all I have cut down on my card sending.  I am really bad about it.

I just don't send the cards like I use too. I guess I don't feel I need too.  To me sending cards is for people you don't hardly talk too. But, that shouldn't be the case should it.  Everyone likes mail and a card always brighten up someones day.

How long does it take to write address and name on a card and send it off.  Guess I need to give myself this little talk so I will sit down and write more out this year.   Maybe it will also save some jobs at the post office.  I don't know its worth a try anyway.

19 years ago today!

19 years ago today they told me I was going to have my first baby girl.  I looked at them and told them no way she is to early, way to early.  They told me she's not waiting.

It all started with me going on bed rest when I was only 4 months along.  They put me on all kinds of medication and watch me daily. I could only get up every two hours for 5 minutes to go to the bathroom and no more.  Oh I was alone a shower a day, but only a total of 10 minutes.  The medication they put me made me shakey and tearful.

Then the morning of Dec. 9, 1992 I woke with blood in my panties I was so scared. I started to cry. Daddy wolf took me to our wonderful doctor. They ran tons and tons of test and said it was time. The cord was wrapped around the babies neck, they need to get it out. I was so scared I remember shaking so hard and they put tons of warm blankets on me and I was still shaking. It wasn't because I was cold. I was scared out of my mind.  They try turning the baby as it was breach but no luck I ended up with a c-section.

That night we had a new baby girl. I never got to hold her.  They took her right away to another hospital as her little lungs were not ready yet. I cried and cried and prayed to God please watch my baby I waited 13 years and went through tons and tons of surgery and test to have her. Please don't take her from me.

The next morning I ask the doctor to please let me go home.  I wanted to be checked out to be with my baby.  He didn't want to has  I wasn't even 24 hours out of surgery. But, he was our daughters god father  and said he would go with us and be with me to make sure nothing happen to me. He is so sweet.

We checked out went to our New Wolf Daughter.  What a beautiful baby she was.  She try and worked so hard for every little breathe she took.   We got to hold her hand but that was it.  I really just wanted to hold her and never let her down.  I ask and pray to God please watch over her.

10 days later they let us hold her and feed her, her very first bottle.  WOW! that was so cool. Daddy wolf and I took turns holding her and giving her tons and tons of kisses.   We stayed in the waiting room 24 hours till she could finally come home with us.   We were so excited.

She has been a wonderful child from day one. Never any trouble.   Well behave and very lovely.

Yes, she gave us a scare but she is well worth it.

Happy Birthday Wolf Daughter.  You made our day the day you were born.  Life has been so much fun since you came into it.  So, glad to have you as our daughter.  We love you so much and you mean the world to us.

This is just blows me away!

This morning Daddy Wolf and I was watching the news a little before he went to work.  I don't know why we watch it. Its so depressing and sad all the time.   I guess we watch it to kind of see what the weather will be like for the day and up coming week.   Even though by the middle of the second day the weather man has changed his mind already.

Any way a couple in Tennessee live in a mobile home and there house started on fire.  The fire man came to make sure there were no people in the home and once they found out there was no one in the home they stood by and watch the house burn up. WHY?  because the couple didn't pay there yearly fee of $75.00 for them to fight it.  WHAT?   Come on some people just don't have the money to do that.  What happen with you bill the people if they need you?

I am still upset about this we send money over to other country to help them with things they need and when our own people are asking for help we stand by and watch it go up and say sorry we can't help you.

Well they need to understand there are people here in American that can't afford every little fee that is out there.

We need to go back to paying if you call you pay.   Or to help our people here too.

Nice cool weather!

Woke up to some frost on our pumpkins.  Guess I should say Christmas trees.   Does it feel nice to be cool for a change instead of stripping all the time and believe me you wouldn't want to see that.

It feels more like Christmas now going to start baking, love to turn the oven on when its cold outside and not sweat when you are working in the kitchen.

Need to get the Christmas cards done and wrap the present then Santa can come.

There are few things that need to be done first before Santa can come we have two Wolf Daughters birthday that are coming up and then he can come.

Its beginning to feel like Christmas!

Wanted to get in the holiday spirit and we sure did this morning.

Wow its nice a crisp out feels so refreshing.   The only funny about it when I went to get a long sleeve shirt I have only 3 of them. All the others are summer shirt.   Guess if it stays need to go shopping some.

But, we aren't complaining we are loving it so much..  now can we ask for a little white stuff on Christmas morning.  Yes, we can ask, will we get it, more then likely not but hey never hurts to ask does it.

Sunday, December 4, 2011

We are trying!

We are trying to make it feel like Christmas.  But, its hard when the temps outside are in the high 70's to low 80's.  Need some cool weather.  Oh some white stuff would be great too.

Another thing is when everyone has gone blue lights this year and do there house outside red and blue to me that makes it look like 4th of the July not Christmas. I guess when you are use to red and green  and that what makes Christmas its hard to get use to all red and blues.

You know the saying its hard to show a old dog new tricks. Now I understand where they are coming from it is.

But, we are trying here at Wolf Bay High to see why they do it down it south this way. It's hard but I am sure we will get it ok.

Great Homemade Christmas Idea!

Got this from a dear friend thought I would share for others to use this time of the year.
I thought friends and family would love this link to inexpense homemade gifts. I will be doing a few of these this year. I am also making scented bath salts and homemade sugar scrubs ( possibly flavored oils and/or flavored salts too). http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2011/12/02/real-food-tips-12-homemade-holiday-gifts-that-aren’t-cookies/
www.100daysofrealfood.com
Admit it. When you think of “making” or “baking” some type of holiday gift you think of cookies. Or maybe candy. No matter what it is I guarantee it’s full of sugar, and collectively there’s just too much of that going around this time of year (in my opinion)! I personally think there are many other...
