The Charles Schulz Philosophy
(This is marvellous!!  Scroll thru slowly and read carefully to receive and enjoy full effect
)

The  following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the  creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip.

You don't have to actually answer the questions.
Just ponder on them.

Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name  the five wealthiest people in the  world.

2. Name  the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name  the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4  Name  ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name  the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name  the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies..

Awards tarnish..

Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special
.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the
most credentials
, the most money...or the most awards.

They simply are the ones who care the most

Pass this on to those people who have either made a difference in your life,
or whom you keep close in your heart, like I did

'Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.

It's already tomorrow in  Australia   !'

Today me and the wolf daughters spent all day long cleaning the house. Taking all the Christmas stuff done and putting the new things out.

What we didn't want took to goodwill for someone else to use.

We are going to start a new fresh year..  I hope its a great 2012 for us.  We sure could use some great news and some wonderful things happen here.

When does age mean this?

Yesterday we meet up with some people we know and they have a daughter who will be 18 in a few months.  So, she hung out with my girls we went to the beach and played around, weather was great.

Several times her parents keep saying I am so glad she is having fun now in a few months she will be 18 adult time to grow up. WHAT?    I looked at both of them finally and said what do you mean by that.

They said well when she turns 18 she is adult. Yes I agree with that.  So, where does it say you can't have fun after that.   They then both said Oldest Wolf Daughter acts to young for her age.  I said what do you mean she said well she is 19 jumping in the ocean waves and laughing not acting like adult.

Ok I am still lost.  Where does it say when you hit the magic number of 18 you can't laugh have fun anymore.  No no don't think so.  Life is to short I told them both.  There is time to be serious and time to have fun.  Right now Oldest Wolf daughter is on break and she is having fun.   I said I am there mother and old enough to know better I have laugh, swim and jump in the waves watch me. I ran to the water and jump and played with the kids.

I came back and said come and join us they said no thank you.

I was lost when we came back home and still am.  They are so serious there is very little laughing because they are adults I think I was told that 50 times yesterday.

So, next time I go out to eat and I see a table of adults and see them laughing does that me they haven't grown up yet?

Or when I go to the beach and see older people in the water does that mean they haven't grown up yet?

Christmas is here.

It seem like we had a long time to get ready for Christmas now its here.  How could that happen? I'm not quit ready for it. But, you know what it will come even if I'm not ready so I better get ready.

This year we decide we do everything different. First it started out with baking we decide we weren't going to bake all that stuff this year so much of it goes to waste and everything is so high now days. We decide we would do a batch at a time.  When that batch is gone then someone in the house gets to pick what they want next and then go from there.  That way nothing goes to waste.  We use to bake a lot and give away but no one wants to eat all that stuff now days.  Everyone is either on a diet or going on one or watching what they eat.  I hate giving people food when you know they wouldn't eat.  So, we decide this year to give our neighbors and those hard to buy for plants or a basket with popcorn and movie in it.   Something we know everyone will enjoy.

For Christmas eve supper we decide to make chicken kabobs and rice along with homemade pumpkin pie.

For Christmas  dinner we decide to make homemade lasagna with garlic toast and a salad.   I know different but my family is not big on turkey and ham all that stuff so we decide to try a whole new route and see how it goes.

Now all the cooking is done lasagna is made ready to finish off tomorrow and kabobs are ready to go on grill later.   The house is all lite up with many different colors, music is playing Jingle Bells, wolf daughters are opening there gifts from each other.  Daddy wolf is taking a nap. Its time to turn tv on and watch  How the Grinch Stole Christmas and get ready for that Jolly Man tonight.

Merry Christmas to all my wonderful blogging friends and family I hope you all enjoy your day with your family and Santa was good to each and everyone of you.

Drama does it end?

Boy, sometimes I wonder. Don't you all?   Why don't people get a life and get on with it.

I remember one time asking my father that question and he said you know what.  What goes around comes around.   There time is coming.

I love facebook well I did I keep in touch with family and meet alot of wonderful new homeschool families and gotten many ideas.   I belong to a group there and when facebook was changing everything I got booted.  I ask the people on there why and no one know.  One girl I talk too wanted to start a new group so I could come back and I told her no not now I wanted to wait and see what happen and facebook was working with me. They are wonderful people.   We found the problem and I went back on.  That girl was gone I ask why and they said she left.   Ok  why?  No one would tell and she wouldn't talk to me.   I don't get it.  If you didn't do anything why did you leave.   No answer.    Why wouldn't you talk to me?  Talk to everyone else but me.  What are you hiding?

That's ok  I gotten over it and gone on with it.  I just know her time is coming  she will get brought down and I will stand back and watch.   I don't feel I did anything.  I try to talk to her to ask what happen but she would never talk.  I was raise if you did nothing wrong then stand up too it.   And that is what I was doing standing my ground.   I will still stand my ground I have nothing to hide. She must as she left and wouldn't talk.

People sometimes never get it.    That's ok  like I said I have gone on and found others who are more honest and understand. To me she was never a friend if she can't talk.   A friend would talk?  Right?

Wonderful day at Wolf Bay High!

Today 17 years ago I was in the hospital giving birth to the most beautiful baby girl ever.   Our youngest Wolf Daughter turned 17 today. Where did the time go?

I remember the day just like it was yesterday. I called daddy wolf at work and told him it was time. Once again we both knew in it wasn't suppose to be. She was suppose to stay in the oven for a 6 more weeks.  But, that's not what she had in mind. She had in mind she was coming Dec. 19, 1994.  She didn't want to miss out on all the Christmas present.   Little turkey.

She a joy to have in our family. Always there to give you a laugh when the day is bad.   Always has a hand if you need help in anything...

So, glad she join our Wolf Family and didn't have to much trouble after she was born. She has had her share of medical trouble but not much keeps this one down. She is fighter.

Happy Birthday Little Wolf Daughter we hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy it.

Try something new!

Friday I wanted to make some scalloped potatoes and ham.  I cut up the potatoes, onions and ham and went into the refrigerator  and found I had no milk.   I didn't want to run to the store, so I thought what can I do with this and make a good meal for the family.

So, I went to the pantry open it up and looked and thought and look and thought more.  I found a large can of cream of mushroom soup and thought wow why not try that.

So, I open the can of cream of mushroom soup put the potatoes, ham and onions in slow cooker, turn slow cooker on low and let it cook for 6 hours. Wow that was the best tasting scalloped potatoes and ham I had in along time.

Think this will be a new meal at Wolf Bay for awhile now.

Lesson Plans!

Today sat and worked on youngest Wolf Daughters lesson plans for after the holidays. Have to do more but think I will put the books away till after Christmas and get busy with our Christmas.

I have a few present left to wrap and some baking to do.  We aren't going to bake much this year. We don't eat that much and so much goes to waste. So, we decide to just bake a batch here and there and when they are gone make another one.

We have so much sweet with all our birthdays and all the cakes we are so tired of it all.

But, we look at it this way if we bake a batch here and there then we will always have something new to eat through out the year.

Any one have any good cookie recipe they would like to share with me. I love to try new ones out.

Homeschool Rocks!

All you wonderful mom's and dad's out there who don't think you can homeschool or been told a million times you can't homeschool and you are going to mess your child up for live.

Take it with a grain of salt and remember you are doing this for your children. Yes, some days are hard.  But, what job isn't..  We don't get paid for our job in money or check but we get paid in love from our children which is worth more then a million dollars.

Today our oldest dd finish her first semester in college taking all math class and walked out with straight A's  the teacher told her they wanted her next semester for a tutor teacher.   Wow my happy wings are out today.

Wow we are so happy here today.  I wish I had a penny for every time I was told I would mess her up.   Oh well what they don't know.

Now we are going to have a birthday then get ready for Santa and enjoy the holidays with our wonderful homeschool family.

Love Rainy Days!

Haven't heard the sound of rain drops on the roofs in along time. Its almost strange.  But, its a wonderful sound to hear.

Love just laying around in pj and reading doing a whole lot of nothing and watching, listening to the rain fall.

I hope we get more rain this winter we were so hot and dry this year it made for a long, long summer.  The heat didn't want to break.. I am sure the electric companies were smiling but I know one thing I wasn't I was crying. Please let me shut this a/c off.

So, a rainy week end.  Getting tons of school things done and ready to go when we start back up after Christmas and New Years.  Going to be fun.   Plan on doing a few field trips to help us understand some of this stuff.  Sometimes hands on works great.

Off to go make Daddy Wolf some brunch.. Happy Sunday enjoy your wonderful day!

Time to get cards out!

With the net, facebook and all I have cut down on my card sending.  I am really bad about it.

I just don't send the cards like I use too. I guess I don't feel I need too.  To me sending cards is for people you don't hardly talk too. But, that shouldn't be the case should it.  Everyone likes mail and a card always brighten up someones day.

How long does it take to write address and name on a card and send it off.  Guess I need to give myself this little talk so I will sit down and write more out this year.   Maybe it will also save some jobs at the post office.  I don't know its worth a try anyway.

19 years ago today!

19 years ago today they told me I was going to have my first baby girl.  I looked at them and told them no way she is to early, way to early.  They told me she's not waiting.

It all started with me going on bed rest when I was only 4 months along.  They put me on all kinds of medication and watch me daily. I could only get up every two hours for 5 minutes to go to the bathroom and no more.  Oh I was alone a shower a day, but only a total of 10 minutes.  The medication they put me made me shakey and tearful.

Then the morning of Dec. 9, 1992 I woke with blood in my panties I was so scared. I started to cry. Daddy wolf took me to our wonderful doctor. They ran tons and tons of test and said it was time. The cord was wrapped around the babies neck, they need to get it out. I was so scared I remember shaking so hard and they put tons of warm blankets on me and I was still shaking. It wasn't because I was cold. I was scared out of my mind.  They try turning the baby as it was breach but no luck I ended up with a c-section.

That night we had a new baby girl. I never got to hold her.  They took her right away to another hospital as her little lungs were not ready yet. I cried and cried and prayed to God please watch my baby I waited 13 years and went through tons and tons of surgery and test to have her. Please don't take her from me.

The next morning I ask the doctor to please let me go home.  I wanted to be checked out to be with my baby.  He didn't want to has  I wasn't even 24 hours out of surgery. But, he was our daughters god father  and said he would go with us and be with me to make sure nothing happen to me. He is so sweet.

We checked out went to our New Wolf Daughter.  What a beautiful baby she was.  She try and worked so hard for every little breathe she took.   We got to hold her hand but that was it.  I really just wanted to hold her and never let her down.  I ask and pray to God please watch over her.

10 days later they let us hold her and feed her, her very first bottle.  WOW! that was so cool. Daddy wolf and I took turns holding her and giving her tons and tons of kisses.   We stayed in the waiting room 24 hours till she could finally come home with us.   We were so excited.

She has been a wonderful child from day one. Never any trouble.   Well behave and very lovely.

Yes, she gave us a scare but she is well worth it.

Happy Birthday Wolf Daughter.  You made our day the day you were born.  Life has been so much fun since you came into it.  So, glad to have you as our daughter.  We love you so much and you mean the world to us.

This is just blows me away!

This morning Daddy Wolf and I was watching the news a little before he went to work.  I don't know why we watch it. Its so depressing and sad all the time.   I guess we watch it to kind of see what the weather will be like for the day and up coming week.   Even though by the middle of the second day the weather man has changed his mind already.

Any way a couple in Tennessee live in a mobile home and there house started on fire.  The fire man came to make sure there were no people in the home and once they found out there was no one in the home they stood by and watch the house burn up. WHY?  because the couple didn't pay there yearly fee of $75.00 for them to fight it.  WHAT?   Come on some people just don't have the money to do that.  What happen with you bill the people if they need you?

I am still upset about this we send money over to other country to help them with things they need and when our own people are asking for help we stand by and watch it go up and say sorry we can't help you.

Well they need to understand there are people here in American that can't afford every little fee that is out there.

We need to go back to paying if you call you pay.   Or to help our people here too.

Nice cool weather!

Woke up to some frost on our pumpkins.  Guess I should say Christmas trees.   Does it feel nice to be cool for a change instead of stripping all the time and believe me you wouldn't want to see that.

It feels more like Christmas now going to start baking, love to turn the oven on when its cold outside and not sweat when you are working in the kitchen.

Need to get the Christmas cards done and wrap the present then Santa can come.

There are few things that need to be done first before Santa can come we have two Wolf Daughters birthday that are coming up and then he can come.

Its beginning to feel like Christmas!

Wanted to get in the holiday spirit and we sure did this morning.

Wow its nice a crisp out feels so refreshing.   The only funny about it when I went to get a long sleeve shirt I have only 3 of them. All the others are summer shirt.   Guess if it stays need to go shopping some.

But, we aren't complaining we are loving it so much..  now can we ask for a little white stuff on Christmas morning.  Yes, we can ask, will we get it, more then likely not but hey never hurts to ask does it.

Sunday, December 4, 2011

We are trying!

We are trying to make it feel like Christmas.  But, its hard when the temps outside are in the high 70's to low 80's.  Need some cool weather.  Oh some white stuff would be great too.

Another thing is when everyone has gone blue lights this year and do there house outside red and blue to me that makes it look like 4th of the July not Christmas. I guess when you are use to red and green  and that what makes Christmas its hard to get use to all red and blues.

You know the saying its hard to show a old dog new tricks. Now I understand where they are coming from it is.

But, we are trying here at Wolf Bay High to see why they do it down it south this way. It's hard but I am sure we will get it ok.

Great Homemade Christmas Idea!

Got this from a dear friend thought I would share for others to use this time of the year.
I thought friends and family would love this link to inexpense homemade gifts. I will be doing a few of these this year. I am also making scented bath salts and homemade sugar scrubs ( possibly flavored oils and/or flavored salts too). http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2011/12/02/real-food-tips-12-homemade-holiday-gifts-that-aren’t-cookies/
www.100daysofrealfood.com
Admit it. When you think of “making” or “baking” some type of holiday gift you think of cookies. Or maybe candy. No matter what it is I guarantee it’s full of sugar, and collectively there’s just too much of that going around this time of year (in my opinion)! I personally think there are many other...

Got to love Homeschooling!

There are so many ways to count why we enjoy Homeschooling so much.

Well yesterday was one of them. We wanted to go to a movie and the place has been packed on week ends and all.  So, we decide yesterday to get up early get all our things done we need to do for the day and head to the afternoon show.

Wow! Glad we waited we were the only ones in there.   That is what I like about homeschool you can work your school around things and not have to fight crowds.  Which none of us at Wolf Bay High like at all.

Today I had to go do some Christmas shopping and the stores were empty I had to look twice at the clock to make sure the place was open.

Its so nice to shop and do things when hardly anyone is around.   I love homeschool.

LOL so cute.. Good for a Monday Laugh!

Back to the salt grind!

Back to the Salt Grind!

That is what Baby Wolf Daughter said this morning when we got her up to do school.  Her father and I laughed so hard she sound like a person who's been at the place for over 30 years.

Out of the mouths of baby's they say and it sure does.

Today we got going on school and got it done at a good time.

Then off to cleaning and getting things back in order after a four day week end.  It was wonderful spending time as a family, watching movies and resting.  The time just goes so fast.

Tree up and house beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Wolf Bay High is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

The tree is up making the house smell so good in here all the lights are on andgoing.

Beautiful Christmas playing in the back ground.  We just love Christmas music here its so beautiful and sweet.

Now going to wrap a few presents to put under the tree.

Don't plan doing much baking this year. Just to pricey and no one here needs it.  Decide we do a batch and once that batch is gone we will do another batch. Pick between different kinds.. nothing special. I know it wouldn't be the same. But, just can't see all that money go down the drain. I know give it away. But, the people we give it away too always get so much and they told us and everyone they don't  need  it this year and don't want it.
So, now have to think of something different to give them.

Maybe a nice plant or something along that line.

I don't think American is hurting to bad!

I don't think American is hurting to bad if we are it's not showing very well.

I never go black Friday. Well guess I should re-state that I never go early, I wait till later in the day and go.
Well this year we got there around 10pm and there was nothing I mean nothing left. Wow! Usually when we go later the crowds are down and there is still some things left. This year there was nothing.

I was talking to a lady at the check out and she was telling me they were hit hard this year and everyone went for everything with in a hour it was gone.

You can look two ways at it. American is not as bad off as everyone says. Or we are bad off and every penny we save is alot to us.

Something is wrong with this picture!

First I will say we had a wonderful Thanksgiving here at Wolf Bay High the turkey was great the left overs were better.

Now on to what wrong with this picture...  we went today like we always do the Friday after Thanksgiving to cut our tree down and put it.

Well we went in shorts and tank tops and it was over 80 out.

We try our best to make it feel like Christmas and not 4th of July... we turn the a/c in the van on high and make it really cold almost frozen us out.

Put on Christmas music.. I am Dreaming of White Christmas and dream it was snow not hot, sunny and sand all around us.

Nativity Scene in DC

Subject: Supreme Court rules no Nativity scene in DC
Date: Wed, 9 Nov 2011 11:06:34 -0800

The Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity Scene in the United
States ' Capital this Christmas season.

This isn't for any religious reason. They simply have not been able to find
Three Wise Men in the Nation's Capitol.

A search for a Virgin continues.

There was no problem, however, finding enough asses to fill the stable.

The Day Before Thanksgiving!

The Day Before Thanksgiving!   And all through Wolf Bay High we are busy as beavers getting ready for the day.

Not  a creature is sleeping not even a wolf... the turkey is thaw and ready to be stuff.

The pies are all made ready for the table and the potatoes are ready to cook into mashed.

Wolf Family is ready to have a great day and be thankful we all are here to enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my wonderful blog friends and family I hope you all have wonderful day and enjoy.

busy time of the year!

Every year I say I am going to be ready and have alot of this stuff done so its not so hard on me and do I do it. NO!

I just and tell myself well you have so many days before that is happen, do this instead.

I remember almost 17 years ago when baby wolf daughter was born in December the nurse at the hospital ask me when  her sister birthday was I said December the beginning and her new sisters is in the end.  She said wow you all are going to be busy.. boy was she right.

Not only are we busy with Christmas and Thanksgiving, we have both Mommy and Daddy Wolf's birthday and both Wolf Daughters birthday too.

Then alot of things in school are ending so we have exam to take too, before we are off for some time around Christmas.

I do know one thing.  I will be ready for Jan. 2, 2012 this year.  Ready to say I'm bored what can I do.   Oh yea take the Christmas Tree down.

Stores are packed!

Wow! Went to the store this am to get my turkey and the stores are packed.  I haven't seen them this busy so early in forever.

They are not there just for turkeys there carts are full of toys, wrapping paper and other things.

I hope this is a sign that things are getting better in the world. That would be great.

I just don't like to go check out that is where it takes the longest.   There are only three lines open and the lines are forever with everyone having a full cart.

Why?  Don't they open more lines to help get people through.   There are other people standing around watching and guiding you to other lines that might go faster. Just go open another line that would help.   I really never understood why they don't.  But, I don't work there so I don't know what there reason is.  Whatever it is I hope its a good one.

Two Wolves Within

The Two Wolves Within

A wise old Indian Grandfather said to his grandson, who ask him what to do about a schoolmate who had done him wrong; "Let me tell you a story, son. I too, at times, have felt a great anger and sometimes hate, for those that have taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do. But hate wears you down and does not hurt your enemy. It is like taking a poison inside your body and wishing your enemy to suffer. I have struggled with these feelings many times."

He continued, "It is as if there are two wolves inside me; one is good and does no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him and does not take offense to everything that happens. It is because he is at peace with himself."

"But the other wolf, ah! - he is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into a fit of temper. He fights everyone, all the time. He cannot think because his anger, hate and jealousy are so great. But it changes nothing outside of himself. It only changes him.

"Sometimes it is hard to live with these two wolves inside me, for both of them try to dominate my spirit."

The boy looked intently into his Grandfather's eyes and asked, "Which one wins, Grandfather?"

The wise old Indian smiled and said, "The one I feed, son; the one I feed."

[The story is also told as spirit man and carnal man. It is a story about how we perceive life.]

Clean! Clean! Clean!

Oh its so much fun to clean!   Yea right.   Anyway we decide we have way to many Christmas things it time to clean and give away... We spend all morning going through boxes and boxes of stuff.  Wow I never thought one house could have that much stuff.   But, you do...

It seems the more boxes you have the more you want to buy and fill them up..   So, we gave away tons of Christmas lights and things. I think I had enough to do about 4 houses and do them good.

Then we went and did a spelling exam which Baby Wolf Daughter did well got a 96 way to go little Wolf Daughter.

Now its off to make hot beef sandwich for supper...

Homemade Potato Rolls!

Up and busy this wonderful Sunday morning.  Got dough going to make homemade potato rolls along with blacken steak..

Another beautiful day in the South could use rain but you have to take what is given to you and enjoy it.  Yea sometimes it hard too.  But, you know the saying the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

Help both Wolf Daughters study for test getting that time of year again, when all the exam are coming up.

Love Christmas and everything that goes with it.

Love this time of the year.  The early part before every gets in a bigger hurry and wonders where they are going to find things.

I love watching tv and seeing all the wonderful commercials that are out on there now.
I just get so tired of seeing all the commercials if you take this drug this can happen to you and if you eat this food this could happen to you.

If you want to sue call this lawyer or that lawyer.

We need some happy things.  Bring back all the old commercials and some happy one.

The world is a sad place why can't we have some happy things. I think  it would help bring alot of people up if they could see and hear happy things more often.

So, for now I will sit listen to my wonderful, beautiful Christmas music and let others look at me like I am nuts because its not even December. But, the music is so beautiful you need to listen to it more then a month.

What happen to being nice?

Just wondering what happen to being nice to others went.

I will tell you I been driving Daddy Wolf to many doctors appointment this week to find out what is going on with him and we have to go to a big city for test and man oh man have I been given the number finger many times.

Today when we were going a person wanted to turn. I slowed down and let that person over thinking I was being nice. I was nice to that person but the person behind me gave them the old number one sign and hooked his horn to make sure I look at him to see he thought I was one number in his book.

Wow!  People are always in a hurry, with no place to go.  I don't get it. They speed down the road, run you off the road to get to work and when you go to the store you wait  forever to get help or checked out.

What is going on with this world?   I think we all need to slow down help others as we can and be nice.   Why?  is it bad to be nice to others?  I don't get it.

The weather is cool this morning 51 out it feels so refreshing and makes you want to do more.
So, I guess I need to get off and get some work done around here.

Once again thanks every one for the prayers, pixie dust or happy thoughts they are working. Keep them coming.

Need tons of prayers, happy thoughts or pixie dust.

Daddy wolf is not doing well. Went last Thursday to have a tooth pulled.  Took them 2 hours to do it.

Now he woke up this am with a mouth the size of a base ball,  in tons of pain.  Loaded him up took him to doctor they put him on some strong antibiotics for infections.  Going to give it 24 hours to work if it don't he has to go into the hospital for surgery and more antibiotics.

Right now he is resting which is the best thing for him. I have to watch him closely so I go in quietly to make sure he is breathing ok and doing fine.

He looks so bad its not funny the poor man is in tons and tons of pain and his skin on his face looks so tight and hard...

So we need tons of prayers he gets better in the next 24 hours and is back to being Daddy Wolf once again

Right now we all are scared and nerves..

Do you work?

I love this question I laugh alot to myself when someone ask me.

My answer is yes I work I am housewife, mother, teacher, doctor, chief, housekeeper, animal keeper, parnter, mom and list goes on and on.

Alot of people think because you stay home all day you have alot of time on your hands.  Well I really don't.  I work hard every day.  I teach both girls. Well really only one now.  Help the other one with some college classes.  But, really don't teach.

Giving your children a education is alot of work.  You want to make sure you are doing the right thing and not messy them up.
There's lesson plans to be make,  material to get ready for each class.  Your speech and how you are going to go over the material.
Some days you wonder is it worth it.  There is no paycheck at the end of the week to show you did it.  But, you do get something better then a paycheck you get to see the light go off in there eyes when they get something. You get tons of hugs and thank you for taking the time to teach us.
Its all worth it at the end of the week.

Homeschooling is a job like any other job you wonder sometime what you get your self into.

But, over all its been the best job I have ever held down. It will be one of the only jobs I miss when time comes for me to be done.

So, next time someone ask if you work, hold your head high and say yes I do and enjoy it.

Stop Bullying.

A teacher in New York was teaching her class about bullying and gave them the following exercise to perform. She had the children take out a piece of paper and told them to crumple it up, stomp on it and really mess it up but do not rip it. Then she had them unfold the paper, smooth it out and look at how scarred and dirty is was. She then told them to tell i...t they’re sorry. Now, even though they said they were sorry and tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they left behind. And that those scars will never go away no matter how hard they tried to fix it. That is what happens when a child bullys another child. They may say they’re sorry, but the scars are there forever. The looks on the faces of the children in the classroom told her the message hit home.

What does it cost to homeschool?

Wow!  I can't believe what people think when you tell them you homeschool.
They say wow that is good I couldn't do it, then they say well at least its cheaper then putting them in a public school and you don't have to worry about taxes.

Ok first of all yes homeschooling can be cheaper or you can end up paying more then a public school it depends one what you want to do with your child.  Every family goes at it a different way, it all depends on what works for your family.   I know I do some things others wouldn't do, but it worked great for my family.

Second yes we still pay taxes on our house, even though we don't use the public school.  Does it bother us yes but you know what that is life sometimes we had to do things we don't like.

But, you can homeschool for cheap there is tons of online programs out there you just have to have printer and go from there.

I can't homeschool!

I have been told that question so many times, when people ask me or my children what school they go too they reply we are homeschool.

First question out of there mouths is I can't do that.   I reply with well homeschooling is not for  everyone. There are famous homeschooler and there are unfamous homeschooler.   Same with public schools there are famous ones and unfamous one.

Homeschooling is not for everyone but those that do it enjoy it.   Yes, there are days you shake your head and said oh my what did I get my self or my children into.
Then a light will off in one of there eyes and you will say this why I am doing it.

Then comes the wonderful S word out of peoples mouth.  Its solicitation.  Homeschoolers get as much and as little solicitation as they want and need. They are into as much if not more then public school children.  That is never a problem.  The problem is when to say enough is enough as there is tons and tons of things to do.

No homeschooler do not live in a box and are not locked in a house. They do get out and do meet tons and tons of people. They are not weird people, homeschooler walk, talk, eat and do school like everyone person.

Why Parents Drink!

>

> Why Parents Drink

>

> A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was

> addressed to 'Dad'.

>

> With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope with

> trembling hands and read the letter.

>

> Dear Dad:

>

> It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you.

>

> I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice.

>

> But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But it' s not only the passion. . . Dad, she's pregnant.

>

> Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children. Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy.

>

> In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Stacy can get better. She deserves it.

>

> Don't worry Dad. I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself.

>

> Someday I'm sure that we will be back to visit so that you can get

> to know your grandchildren.

>

> Love,

> Your Son,

> John

>

> PS. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house.

> I Just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the Report Card that's in my center desk drawer.

>

> I love you. Call me when it's safe to come home...

Daddy Wolf!

Sorry haven't been around blogging, not that I have forgotten about you all. But, Daddy Wolf has had surgery.  He had the veins in his leg strip.  Now they say this will took some of the leg pain away along with back pain.

We are hoping so.   They do it so different now days. Its a in day thing and they don't really take them out they cut very small holes by the veins then burn the veins shut do a couple of things then they are done go to the next. They say the vein will dissolve in his body in time.

He been in some pain, but did go back to work and worked hard. His legs are all black and blue and they say that is common too.  So, now we are waiting and hoping with the healing and time it helps.

Did something I haven't done in I don't know when?

Today after going over the big bridge to the big city to pick up our oldest wolf daughter from college. The traffic was bad up so bad it took me double the time to get there and back.

So, by the time I got back I was tired and stress out. I am not much of person for city and back up traffic driving.  Never have been. Guess that is why I pick small towns to live in.

We decide we would make lunch and sit and watch The New Winnie the Pooh Movie. Yea we know its for the young ones but once in a while its fun to go back and dream and take all your stress away.  That is what Winnie the Pooh does.

Winnie the Pooh is a cute movie and wonderful show.   If you can the next time you are up town. Rent it from your favorite place, grab a bowl of popcorn and enjoy.

Sometimes I just don't get it.

That is people in general they never talked to you before or have anything to do with you till someone is around or they want to sell you something.  Or get into your business.

People sometimes I think have way to much time on there hands and just don't know what to do with it all.

Yes, we homeschool and a lot of people know we do. A lot thinks it great and some don't. But, you know what that is fine too.  Its a free world we all can do what we feel is best for your family.

Sometimes this might work for our family but not yours.   That is why when you go to the store there is tons and tons of cereal to choice from we all have different taste.

You shouldn't judge someone because we all have different taste or do thinks different.

That's what makes this world turn around.  Don't want everyone to be the same.

What a boring world we would live in.

Good one

Yes, I'm a woman. I push doors that clearly say PULL. I laugh harder when I try to explain why I'm laughing. I walk into a room and forget why I was there. I count on my fingers in math. I hide the pain from my loved ones. I say it is a long story when it's really not. I cry a lot more than you think I do. I care about people who don't care about me. I try to do things before the microwave beeps!! I listen to you even when you don't listen to me. And a hug will always help. Yes, I'm a girl!!!!! This made me giggle, because it is so true!!!!

Sometimes you just have to give up!

Sometimes you just have to give up on people and go on.  You did everything you can and it still don't work.

Like I told the Wolf Daughters you can say you try and if it don't work then its not worth it.

Some people just want to be made out there are perfect and never do anything wrong.  Don't think so there is only one perfect person and he is above.

We all make mistakes that is where we learn from. Its just if we are big enough to admit we made mistake and go on from there.

Yes its hard to admit we make mistakes but it shows we are strong and willing to change if we do admit it.

Do It Anyway

"People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you.  Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight. Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God: It was never between you and them anyway"

 Poem:  By Mother Teresa

This is so true.

So True!

Cold Front Came!

Yea!  There is other temps out there beside 110.

The cold front arrived this morning with high winds and cooler temps.  Now I hope it stays awhile.  Still not cold enough to turn a/c off but hey its better.

Now if we can get some more rain here in Texas we would be doing good.

But, you know  you wouldn't here any complaints from this house if the temps stay under 90 or 100 we are doing fine.

Off to school we go with a smile on our face. If there wasn't so much wind would be outside doing school today. But, think we will take a walk later.

Shell Shock!

Today Daddy Wolf and I went to the store for coffee and oil for the van.  Wow! When we went to get the oil the price of a quart of oil hit me.   Where have I been? Must of been in my cave for a long winter nap.  Think I need to go back there.

Quart of oil was $4.18 for Quaker wow that is a lot. I remember when it was $1.08 quart.

Then I started looking around at other things and just looking at how high everything is getting.

Wow! then they wonder why no is doing good or having money troubles.  A loaf of bread is over $2 a loaf. A dozen of eggs is close to $ 2.00.

Scary, everything going up but the pay checks.

Maybe we need to move and plant a garden to help with the food. Or go back in my cave.

Biology

Biology is a fun class to do and you learn a lot wonderful things.

Somethings are just a little uncomfortable for others.  We are doing the human body and chain.  Poor Daddy Wolf at the supper table, when we tell him some of the things we learn that day,

You know one thing that has been hard for Daddy Wolf and I is the fact that these little Wolf Puppies had to grow up and they grew up so fast.

Anyway back to where we were at the supper table talking about the human body and how its made and changes.  When youngest Wolf Daughter tells Daddy Wolf something his face turns red and his jaws just about drop to the floor.  I don't think its because he didn't know it I think its because his baby is growing up and learning a lot things you have keep quiet about for awhile.

Any way there are a lot of wonderful on line web sites that help you get through  some of this and also help you say some of these big words.

Because as you all know the English language loves to put letters and add letters where there not need so sometime saying these words aren't the right way.

So, we are having fun not only learning new words but seeing where they are on the human body and how it works.

Coupons!

Coupon is a lot a work. Its a job all in its self.  You can work on looking for coupons and cutting them out around 2 to 3 hours a week.  Is it worth it?  Yes and No.  Sometimes I don't think so but when I go in and save a dollar or two I am happy.

They are getting harder and harder to get good food ones.  Just not out there.  Companies aren't doing many of the food items anymore.  I think maybe because of high prices, really don't know.

Living in South Texas we just don't have the stores like some states do so we don't have much choices.  I have notice some wonderful coupons but our stores either don't carry the item or its much higher then what others had said it was in there state.

I guess we just have to keep looking and keep trying.  Every little bit helps. Some times I can save $20 to $30 a week and others I can't.

Most of the coupons I seen out are for cleaners or soap. But, they are high so will get them if we use them and they are a good sale.

Always tell Wolf Daughters every little bit I save helps.  Then the money goes for more books. LOL   Mean Mama

English Language!

Had a wonderful talk today over the lunch!

Youngest Wolf Daughter is doing word power and there were some words in there that she thought were funny.

Yes, English language is a hard language to learn and is funny sometime.

Like Knife.  Why is there K in front of knife you don't say it.

Another one is Knee why is that there a K in front of that one?

Wow! We were saying we are glad we were raised and speak English. It is one of the hardest language to learn and we can see why.  They add letters that don't need to be there.
Or there are fifty, ok maybe not that many, but sometimes it seems like ways for  one word to be spelled  but has fifty different meanings or you can use it fifty different ways.

Silly English Language..

Just one of those days!

The weather outside doesn't know if it wants to rain or not.  It clouds up, opens up, rains a few seconds and then its done.

One of these days it will rain and wouldn't stop.

Anyway we decide it was time we load up in the truck and go for ride.  Sometimes these are some of the funnest trips, no set time or plans just get in and go.  Decide hey I want to stop here and see what they have here or oh wow that is neat lets stop and look.

Pull into a little town with a little cafe and order and its some of the best food you tested in days.
Sometime those out of way, or little holes in the walls are the best places to eat.

It was a wonderful day,  rain a little bit not enough to wash us out. Meet some wonderful people and had lots of laughs and seen different things.

Sometimes this is what the doctors order just get away, forget everything, enjoy the family, and laugh.

Schools!

Wow!  We parents wonder why are kids aren't doing well in public schools or colleges.  We I am so floored by this I just can't get over it.

I have homeschool my girls most of there life's they both went to a public school for a year and then they were at home.

Now Oldest Wolf Daughter is in a College and I am just floored at the teachers there.  They don't help the kids with anything. Her teacher always tells them she is there to give lesson, go through the days work and if they need anymore help they need to see a tutor.   WHAT?  We paid you to teach our children now we have to pay a tutor because you don't want to take the time to help.  WHY?  I am so lost. I am so glad Wolf Daughter understand this and don't need the extra help. But, I do feel sorry for those who don't.  So sad.  Oldest Wolf Daughter said she is always 15 to 20 minutes late everyday and when she comes she looks so tired and dragging.  Said she is going to college herself,  has a family.

I just hope its this teacher and not all the teachers in college.

Then we wonder why our kids walk away with a degree and still don't know much.  Well its because no one else cares about them, don't want to help so they don't either. Sad so Sad.

Replacement Windows

REPLACEMENT WINDOWS

Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with
that expensive
double-pane energy efficient kind, and today, I got a call from the
contractor who installed them. He was complaining that the work had
been completed a whole year ago and I still hadn't paid for them.
bobbie
Hellloooo,............just because I'm blonde doesn't mean that I am
automatically stupid. So, I told him just what his fast talking sales
guy had told me last year, that in ONE YEAR these windows would
pay for themselves! Helllooooo? It's been a year! I told him.
There was only silence at the other end of the line, so
I finally just hung up. He never called back. I bet he felt like an idiot.

Cool Days are coming!

Woke up the last couple of mornings with some temps in the 60's  loving it..  Really feeling like fall.

Wolf Daughters are wanting to do more outside.  Took school out to the back yard yesterday and let the kitty run while were studying.

It was nice sitting there and not over heating in five minutes and running for shade.

Nice to not hear the a/c running so much. I am sure my bill will like it.. Its been running it seems like forever.

Open all windows just to change the air around in the house. Love doing that once in awhile.

I remember when we lived up north.  The Wolf daughters were sick a lot went to doctor one time and he said I don't care what the temps are outside you should open windows once a week for 10 to 20 minutes to change the air in the house.  I have done it every since.   Love the change.  Makes everything smell so good.

Happy Fall!
