When it Rains it Rains Spiders.

So gross is all I can say. They were talking on the news the other day about how spiders were coming down from the sky and making webs as they do like parachute.  So, Gross right. Well the other day when I came home from work, the girls came outside and those darn things were coming out of the sky making webs all over the place, in our hair, on our car, tree, sidewalk. Looks like a spooky Halloween or a Horror Movie. Just gross.  I have seen alot but never seen that before.  Just makes me love Texas more and more.

Fall is here at Wolf Bay High!

Wow the last couple of mornings woke up to temps in the 60's fall is here.  We are so happy here at Wolf Bay High to say bye bye 100 plus temp. Those temps. get to you after a while.  Now we get to enjoy the cooler weather and camp more, before it was to darn hot to camp and enjoy our self. Try having a bomb fire when the temps are over 100 just want you want to do is build and make more heat, and sit by the fire and eat smore with sweat pouring off you don't think so.

Baby Wolf went yesterday day and got her permit so we have another driver in our home. She did wonderful on the test was little nervous but did great then drove me home on the four lane highway. She is a good little driver.  Wow both Wolf's are now driving where did the time go.

Mama Said life is like a box of chocolate you never know what you will get!

That saying is so true.  You just have to think about it. You never know what you will get. ( unless you are one of those that pokes the bottom and if its not your flavor put it back like nothing happen)
Sometimes that is a good thing.  Its nice to have surprise but then again sometimes it would be nice to know.

Like today we found out Baby Wolf will have to take her Drivers Ed class all over, because the state made a mistake.  Like I told Baby Wolf it might be a pain but we will get through it. If that is the smallest hill we have to climb in awhile we are doing great.

Big Daughter Wolf is getting excited almost done with her World History book, took her two years she is ready to put that book on the shelf for awhile and get on with other things.

Weather sure did a change her in Wolf Land went from beginning in the 100's to only 80's today with very low humidity it was nice to open up the house, let the cool air flow through out the house.  Was only 64 when we got up this morning come on winter. We love you.

Cooler weather ahead!

You know they say if you are patient enough things do come around. Well we are finally suppose to be getting some cooler weather I sure hope so. Would be nice to once again open windows and smell the wonderful smell that come with fall. Hear the kids play outside again.
We took the swimming pool down yesterday.  Time for winter and this last wind and rain storm did a mess on it, it was easier to take it down and put it away then start all over again. We will put it up again in the spring.  Bye bye pool we had fun with you see you later. Now time to get the hot tub up and going.

Been Busy at Wolf Bay High!

I will try to fill you all in on whats been going on at Wolf Bay High. First Baby Wolf has to do drivers ed all over again as they sent us the wrong package. Well I try fighting but you get to a point sometimes its best just to bite the bullet and do so we will. Told Baby Wolf it should go fast for her. These darn laws its hard to keep up with all the changes.  About as bad as the weather changes in a blink of eye.  But, its a small hill and we will climb that hill together and it will make us stronger as we are climbing to the top.

My mustang is still  in shop they are fixing the brakes said they don't know how were driving and how we made it without getting hurt. Told them some one up above us was watching us and watching us close. Hopeful that baby will be back in our hands again next week.

Big daughter wolf is busy with all her studies too its her Senior year and she is busy getting everything in and done. She is one of the students that wants to do it all.

Daddy Wolf is busy at work and helping me with the little wolfs and school.  He does the Math and Science with them and History.  They have so much fun in together its great to see them work together.

This is our little Morning Dove we took in and nurse it back to health. It had a broken wing.
On Thursday the Little Dove fly off. The smile on both Wolf's face was priceless. It flow way to other doves. We kept it and nurse it for a week and then it was ready to go home.  Bye, little Dove take care it was joy, you bought smile to the little Wolf's face each day they came to see you and seen you were getting better and around more and more each day.

Well we had a big change at the Wolf House. Mama Wolf went to work in the real world after 18 years home.  Ok I know what you all are saying lazy, no its not that way. I was a caregiver to two family members, a teacher to the Wolf pups, cook, housekeper, taxi driver, wow the list goes on. The day went well. I will be only working part time. Need to still be home to help the Wolf pups finish there school. They did well the first day I was gone. Gave them a list of things that need to be done with school. Came home all was done that they could do until Daddy and Mama Wolf got home to help them.

Is it Monday again?

Well today start off like any Monday should.  Oh no its not Monday its Wednesday someone needs to tell Murphy that I think he thought it was Monday.
Any way Big Daughter Wolf got up this am and decide she wanted to go to Rockport for breakfast before school. I thought what a better way to start the day off. Baby Wolf had Exam in Math. Big Wolf was studying for a Exam in Spanish so before we would put all our Wolf heads together and hit the books we thought we start out with a nice warm breakfast. You know they always say a good breakfast is the great way to start the morning off.  Big Daughter Wolf started driving and was doing great then we got to the place got out to get our donuts and when we got back in the car I smell something like burn rubber.  We couldn't find anything so got on our way and as we leaving the car felt like someone was pulling me back and I wanted to go forward. Got Daddy Wolf on the phone and he said he didn't know then as we were talking the breaks went we lost all breaks. We got into a bank parking lot and called for a tow truck. Wow we were lucky or some one up above was watching us.
No one was hurt and we didn't hit anything.  WOW that was a close one.  Anyway we called Daddy Wolf he came to get us so we go home and do school and they could took our car to the doctors  to get fix.  Poor thing.  I am sure it will be fine.  Just need some work.  We all get that way after a while. Came back home and way we went to studying and Baby Wolf got a B on her Math and Big Wolf is still studying her Spanish will take test on Friday.  Baby Wolf then went working on writing for school she is so funny had to write a letter to friend any friend. What she is doing is getting practice for her big paper.  She brings the letter for me to read and look over. I laugh so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants.  This is how it kind of went  Dear Kimmy I wonder if what all this school is about? Will it help save my life if I was in accident? How will Grammar help then?
Well I don't know I guess us kids are going to have to grow a back bone and just do it.  That's ok I only have 9 1/2 more years of school left. Bring it on. LOL she is to funny.

Big Daughter Wolf went and did the rest of her work and then she been drawing away. Last night we went to a college night here in town, they had tons of college from all over for them to look at she was so excited and fell in love with a couple so we will look into them more.
So, our day wasn't to bad at Wolf Bay High it could of been alot worst but we learn alot today and learn that tomorrow will be another day!  Bring it on!

Go all the way to the bottom of the page to see the picture of my car. Sorry it went all the way down there I don't know why? Will try and figure it out later.

Corpus Christi Floods - Pictures Of You

Just a little more rain!

Just a little more rain and my ark would float great. Yea right.  We have more then enough rain. One thing I learn about living in Texas you either get tons of rain all at once or nothing for months.  When it comes all at once it has no place to go.   We now have roads that are flood and not drive able.  Almost reminds of  good ole winter snow storm but there's no snow, just tons and tons of water. Ok maybe not tons but it looks like it.  We will be fine.  I love the rainy weather its nice for a change and the cool temps that come with it.  These temps. are wonderful.

For the life of me I have never figured out people and maybe its best I don't or maybe I was not meet to figure out people I don't know.
Today I took Baby Wolf down to get her permit.  We did the parent taught class. The package they sent me. Well when we got up to the counter they told me that this class is no longer in use. So, she has to another whole class. I said what? She said I am sorry but we can't use this class. I said ok what does this mean.  She said Baby Wolf had to pay another $85.00 for another course and go through it all again. I said WHAT?  You are crazy we spend all this time and money already on this class now you are telling you up grade or change your course so now we have to go do something different I don't think so.  This Mama Wolf is tired of games and all.  She said ok just a minute then she came back and said how did you get this class and book. I said I filled out a form sent the check for the class and got this. She said really.  Man, I wanted to.. no sit back Mama Wolf take it easy. I said it was sent in this envelope on this date to my address. She goes really. I said yes really. She then said that is funny, I said why she said because we don't use this program as of this date. I said I knew nothing about that I just use what you all sent me. She then went on and to my face in front of Baby Wolf said did you buy or steal this from some else. I said What on earth are you talking about if I am going to steal something it sure and heck wouldn't be a drivers test.  She said I don't know what we can do but make you all pay the $85.00 and start all over. Poor Baby Wolf her face just fell to the floor.  Looking at my little Wolf all heart broken  I put on my Mama Wolf claws and said no way.  I will go talk to the main office on Tuesday as they were close with all the bad weather and see what we can do for my Little Baby Wolf.  I have sat and talk to her and told her if we do have to take it all over again it wouldn't be that bad. Yes, its a pain but we can do. Yes, Wolf's stick together like glue and can climb any mountain that is put in front of us.

Where to begin?

Poor Daddy Wolf thought he would get the day off today and no work.  Hmmmmm we had other plans for that man or I should say Mother Nature did.  We need to build a ark to get anywhere.  Hurricane Karl hit below us in Mexico but I think it forget to leave the rain down there. We are getting hit hard and no relief in site.  Not complaining love it better then the heat. First time in along time we all are cool and not hot in a while.  But, the rain is coming down.  Over 5 inches in my area. My back yard is flood. Thank God for second floor might need it yet.  Was thinking of opening up the backyard for swimming lesson or to teach people to surf the winds are up I am sure we could and you wouldn't have the salt water.  Hmmmmmmmm I wonder if that would work?

Dear New Homeschooler!

Dear Terrified New Homeschooler
There will come a day. A bad day. The baby kept you up all night crying with a head cold. Your daughter, who could add double digit numbers yesterday, today cannot add 2 +2. She's forgotten how to read, too. Your son is staring off into space instead of doing his work. You've reminded him 15 times in the last 10 minutes to get back on it. You're ankle deep in craft paper from the failed origami projects. It's a quarter till noon, and everyone is still in their pajamas.
Don't panic. You're fine. Everything is going to be fine. The baby will take a nap and so will you. Your daughter will add and read again tomorrow. Your son won't become a juvenile delinquent. Tomorrow he'll discover that he loves salamanders and want to write a report on them, all on his own. (By the way, Mom, can we pleeeze have a salamander? I promise I'll take care of him! His name is going to be George, after Mad King George of England. . .) The mess will get cleaned up. Tomorrow will be better.
I hope that this bad day never happens to you.
There's That Parent in your homeschool group who has never had a bad day. Her three-year old is doing Calculus. Her house is spotless. She has a school clock, complete with alarm to keep everything on a perfect, precise schedule. She has never in her life had to rummage through the couch cushions to find the glue stick and paper scissors. She LOVES every MOMENT of homeschooling. She never wakes up a 3 am, wondering if her kids are going to end up illiterate and unemployable. She never wishes that Hogwarts was real, so that she could run away to it and never homeschool again.
Maybe you will be That Parent. If you're not, know that you belong to a large, if not illustrious club. There are many of us that have had bad days at the homeschool. We will not judge you. We ask that you do not judge yourself too harshly either. Bad days can be hard to get through. But you *can* get through them. There are many better days waiting to be had. We veterans of bad days will be over here with a good supply of hankies if you need us.

Found a hurt Dove

Every morning before we start school at Wolf Bay High we walk.  It's about a mile a half a day.  Yesterday day on the walk we found a Morning Dove with a hurt wing beside a school we walk by. My little Wolfs they have heart as big as Texas couldn't leave it and I didn't have the heart to tell them no. So, we bought the poor frighten thing home, put it in a box gave it some water and food. It slept most of the day.  This morning got up to check on the little one and he was walking all over the room, still not flying, the little Wolf Girls take it outside a couple times a day and watch it like a hawk.  Its so cute.  Hopeful this week end I can get pictures up of it.  They did tell me today as soon as its better they would let it go out in the wild.  They are so sweet, can't even kill a spider, let alone a little bird. Guess they wouldn't be big hunters when they grow up. Hopeful the man they find to live with wouldn't hunt either.

Good day at Wolf Bay High!

Today we were busy with Baby Wolf studying for  a English exam. She is so funny as we were working they were asking her about compound sentence, complex sentence, nouns and verbs.  She look at me and said Mom when is the last time you were talking to someone and you notice they talk in a compound sentence or said a noun out of place.  I said all the time. LOL she said really. I said no, I don't judge.  Wow! that was a mistake then Baby Wolf said why do I have to study this stuff then . I told her to help her write letters, for college, or a job.  Ok that went over a little better. She did wonderful so I sent her in to her room to her desk to take the exam. I guess Baby Wolf thought I was a smart ass telling her I listen all the time to people talking so she thought she would play a trick on me. Came in with a big sad wolf face and said I am sorry Mom I did the best I could. I said ok let me check it.
Check it over and Baby Wolf got a 95. Way to go Baby Wolf. You rock!   Then sent her off to study Math and History.
So, I could work with Big Wolf Daughter in History, we are learning about Russia right now. She said it's boring but doing ok in it.
While I  sat and work with her,  I got teary eyes just thinking this is the last year of school with her. I wish I knew where all the years went they sure slip by fast. Yes, we had some days we both would of loved to thrown our hats in and give up. But, we stood strong and knew this was best and its proving to be.

Well once the little Wolf pups were busy reading I went down to make home made stew in a slow cooker.  Daddy Wolf ask for it.   Linda, I will get the slow cooker recipe off soon.
Stew is easy I just bought little red potatoes cleaned them and put them in whole with carrots, celery, onions, then add my stew meat which I rolled in flour and brown first. Then made homemade gravy and put over the stew and it smells great in here.  Add what ever seasons you all like.

Everything working again at Wolf Bay High!

What a difference a working a/c can do to for us Wolf's its nice to be able to rest  again and sleep in our beds.  I think the whole pack will get a great sleep tonight. I hope so anyway.
Once the a/c got up and running made homemade poppy seed muffins for the little wolfs for breakfast this morning. Homemade brownies for daddy wolf. Then for supper made chicken breast in olive oil, along with homemade sweet potato fries.  Sure found where all my energy went, it went right out the window with the heat. One thing I found out is the heat sure takes all the energy out of a person.
The wolf girls did a lot better in school today.  Sure is a whole different family when you get things working and stomachs full again.

Where does time go?

I was laying in bed last night, asking myself this question Where does time go?  It seems like yesterday I gave birth to my oldest wolf pup and two years later along came baby wolf pup.  Now they both are young ladies looking into college, looking at boys and Daddy wolf and I are saying where did the time go.   I know some days it seems to move slow but really it moves the same no matter what you are doing?  I just wish it would slow down so I could enjoy it more.  Yea sometimes I wish life away and I know I shouldn't but if you are sick or in pain that is when you do.  Sometimes life doesn't give us a bowl of cherries. Sometimes we have to work harder to get what we want. But, isn't that what makes life fun and how we learn.

Remember all those wonderful people from 9-11

My heart is broken today like so many others. Thinking of all those innocent people who lost there lifes on this day.  People that were just like you me, going to work to make a living for there family. Those wonderful firefighters, EMT all the first responders to help others that were trap. Those who fought and stop the last plane from landing in another building. My heart goes out to you and all your love ones. The pain has to be hard. But, remember you have alot of support through the country to help you all. Still it wouldn't bring back your love ones.  But, I do hope it helps you get through every day life until you see them again.  Our hats our off to you all today and everyday.  You all will never be forgotten.

Test Day!

The wolf daughters are waiting for the end of the day they both are doing a history exam which we been studying all morning long.  Mama wolf is even learning some things. Wow I didn't think  that could happen. Who says you can't teach old dogs new trick come on look at me.  Another very hot and humid day in south Texas but hey what more can we ask for in Sunny South Texas. Winter hmmmm dreaming now.  Guess it never hurts to dream a little, all it does is make us stronger.
On the phone with the a/c people this morning, still waiting for the warranty company to decide what they want to do. Ok I said where is this warranty company out of the lady said North  I said figures they are moving slow they don't understand how hot it down here. Oh well we will make it, might not like it but hey we will do it.  Like Daddy Wolf said in a few months we will sit back and laugh about this, I don't know if I will laugh about it but I know I wouldn't forget it.

Murphy won!

Ok Murphy you won!  Wow the a/c man here today saying the a/c is frozen up where the coils are and they have to order parts. Could take a week. I looked at him and said do you know where I live sir. He laughed.  Lord!  I need you to give me the strength to get through this hot and humid week while I am waiting for the part to come in.  Also, Lord please bring winter early this year. Amen.

I just don't know how people lived without air years ago or how they work outside down here with out air. One thing I do admire them more now. Wow! I hate summers in south Texas.  I am sitting here writing this and sweat is pouring off my back its 109 inside here.  I just hope we get winter fast.

Love, Hate thing going on.

Did you ever have this love, hate thing going on. Well I do with warranties right now. Love them they help pay for things and you don't have to worry about where the money will come from to fix the problem. Then you have to hate them because you can only go to there people in there group.
Well this tropical storm Hermine decide it wanted to come and visit us and before it came it decide we didn't need the air anymore.  hmmmmmmmm I don't know who they were fooling. We need it.
Now we are sitting here in the house that reads 90 inside, windows open all the fans going and nothing. I have taken two cool showers and it wasn't for the reason you all think. Its because I was hot.
They told me this afternoon when I talk to them if we get no more rain they will be out Thursday late hopeful if not Friday or Monday next week. I said what! Do you know we have no air?  She said yea but it's not 100 outside no its not its 100 in my house you turkey.  Oh man you got to love those people they are so sweet and caring. Wish there were more people like them in the world.

Back from Camping!

What a wonderful trip we had camping with the family and some wonderful friends.  We did alot of hiking.. got alot of rain the first night.  But, we aren't complaining its much need rain and sure cool down the temps. for awhile.  We seen alot of wild life.  Lots of deers they even came right up to our table this morning when we were eating pancakes and wanted some.  Bunnies out of this world.  Wild turkeys they were so cute, and even several armadillos.  It was so neat to see all the wild life once again. In the city the only wild life we see are people running here and there, giving me and others the good ole California howdy.  At least they are friendly.   Got home this afternoon to alot of rain from a tropical storm coming our way.  More rain sure makes the grass grown. Shhhhh don't tell the wolf girls that then they will get upset because they have to mow again.  We also came home to no a/c our a/c is out yea great wonderful.  No one working on Labor Day so we are here in the house with no a/c and praying someone will come tomorrow in the storm if not pray we can open windows with out getting everything wet inside. Man if it doesn't rain it pours.  That's one thing I learn about life, there is always something going on to keep you busy and make the world go around.

Coupon Queen!

That is what they called me today when I went shopping for our camping trip.  When I got in line to check out I had tons of coupons this middle age couple behind me said are they worth all the work. I said I think they are.  I said just watch. So my total came too $199.00 wow almost $200.00 I just about flip my lid.  Then I hand her the coupons and got it down to $128.00 what a big saving. Not bad for 2 weeks of food for a family of 4.  I love coupons. I had tons of free coupons, most my coupons were for $1.00 off this or that.  Now I need to go looking for more coupons to re- build my supply, so in two weeks I am ready.  If you haven't try  using coupons give it a try it is worth it.

Going Camping!

Well we love RVing so much and miss it we bought and use one from Alaska its a 1989 older one but in great shape.  We are going to go camping this week end.  Going to a state park here in Texas. Would like to go some place cooler but would have to almost leave the state.  We are just all going to relax, do some hiking and much need rest.  Do some smores by  the fire.   I hope you all have a great long week end and wonderful Labor Day!   Just finish up school today we are now 2 months into it.

Feeling Blue!

Ever have those days you feel so blue!  I have had those days for awhile. I know alot has happen in the last year to not help it. But, I need to put on my big girl panties and get over it.   Sometimes I wonder how one person can keep going.  It seem to start at a young age when my father passed, then several months later my wonderful sister.  Man I could write a book, maybe I need to write a book and it might help me get through this. I wonder if I ever will be happy again. Yes, I am happy with Daddy wolf we have had some time too, with his two cancer.  Then our baby wolf's they have some scare too.  I wonder is it normal for everyone to have so much bad luck..  I understand people have to go and pass away but why so many in my life so close.  I guess I just need to put my big girl panties on and get through this. Yes, I know alot of it my fault I try to hold it in.  I sometimes don't like to talk about it hoping it will go away but it never does. So, I am going to bed and in the morning I am going to throw those big girl panties on and try to get through this.

We meet another homeschool family yesterday!

Wow!  It seems like they keep coming out of the wood works... I remember over ten years ago when I started home schooling the girls it was hard to find anyone that homeschool. Now, you almost have to  not be looking. They are every where.  I think its wonderful.  The little wolf's went and meet there daughters whom are about the same age as my girls. They had a blast talk, talk, talk.   The mother had alot of question for me. This is her first real year.  It was wonderful to share what I knew and to help someone out.  I am just so happy to help and see more and more people homeschool.   Pretty soon I think the tables will change instead of people giving you funny looks and asking you tons of question about homeschool,  they will be looking funny at those who still go to public school and asking them question.  Its just a wonderful feeling to see more and more coming out and not being as afraid and ready to stand up for the homeschooler.  Homeschoolers  Rock!
