Facing the Fear of Pain!

Well went to the dentist the other and was told I need tons of work.  With no insurance this will be out of pocket, so it will be done the cheapest way possible.

The cheapest way is not going to sleep while they do all the work, its staying awake and letting them do it all.

So, I been thinking can I do this. I know I can. Its just I am not one to put pain on anyone or myself.  I don't like sitting there for a hour and half while they do all the work and given nothing.

So, I been doing a lot of thinking and hope to come to something really soon.

I know it needs to be done and done soon. Its if I can get pass the fear of pain to do it.

Any tips to help me through this would be wonderful..   Thanks!

How do you not know?

Today the Wolf Daughters and I were reading on yahoo, where a lady had a baby and didn't know.

Now, how could you not know.   Ok first sign would be miss your period.  ( nope she said hers was off alot so didn't notice.)

Second; movement in your stomach  ( thought it was gas) WHAT?

Third:  Weight gain or bigger stomach... ( thought I was putting on weight)  even lost some pounds during that time.

Well I had to babies and I had trouble having them took me thirteen years and tons of doctors and test to get my bundles of joys.  We are so happy.

Yes, my periods were off but if I would of went 6 months with out one I think I would have red flags going up.

Gas pains well a baby moving in your stomach is different then gas pains. But, if you feel its gas pains they are some bad gas cramps.  Maybe you needed  to see a doctor or something.

Weight gain. Wow that's a lot in one area don't you think.  Maybe you need to see someone.

Losing weight that happens too. But, you still keep the little stomach in front.

I think it's mostly denial.  I have a really hard time with this and someone saying they didn't know. Come on face it. It happen and there's a little one in you.   Yes, its not what you want or you don't want to have tell people about it but it happen and now you have to step up to the plate and face the music.

Weatherman!

Weather is a hard job I understand.   I understand Texas hasn't had rain or anything in over 9 months but don't get so excited and wonder why people lose trust in you all.

There's a Tropical Storm out in the Gulf and its a small one to begin with nothing big.

Well yesterday I went to the store to get milk and bread. When I went to check out the cashier said wow you are the first person through my line in the last hour with water or can goods.  Storm has everyone running. I said why?  Heard it wasn't suppose to be much. The eye isn't go to hit us. Not much rain. So, why is everyone running like a chicken with there head cut off.  She said I don't.

So, I came home and turn on TV they hadn't up graded anything yet. Said that didn't know where the eye was hitting yet. It could change over time.  Then the two colleges in our town close and force all students to live. What?   Its a storm winds are only 50mph we have that many times a normal week.  We are only suppose to get about a inch of rain. Why are you forcing people to leave?  It cost money for people to find a place to go.  Not like up North when weather gets bad you go to the basement.  Here you have to drive hours in land, find a motel.  It all cost money.

Then they sit around and say no one listens to them. Well don't cry wolf.  I understand if you don't and someone will get hurt you could get blame for it.  But, come on this storm is nothing.  Its a baby don't make a mountain out of ant hill.   Sit back yes watch it that is what you are getting paid for.

Yea, people need to be prepared for something like this but hey we been told since June 1st to get ready. I think the ones that want to get ready are ready anyway.

So, don't yell and scare people, because next time they might not take you serious and that could be the big one.  You weather man wonder why no listen to you all and so many people die in hurricanes. Its not cheap to run or get ready for things that don't happen.  Alot of people live pay check by paycheck and when you say things like this to scare people they run and use there money up and have nothing for the rest of the month and no storm.

So, all I can say is watch it yourself and do what you feel is best for your family. Don't always get excited over a little ant hill.

Letter to Congress!

Dear Congress, Last year I mismanaged my funds and now my family & I can't decide on a budget. Until we come to a unified decision that meets all of our needs and interests, we will have to shut down our checkbook and will no longer be able to pay our taxes. I am sure you will understand. Thank you for setting an example we can all follow.

Government!

Thought with everything on with the government this was a good one to share!

Be a Kind Women!

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says~~"Oh crap, she's up!"

Seen Harry Potter part 2

Wow what a wonderful movie. If you haven't gone yet go give it a try its good. Moves along at a good rate and time goes fast.

Grab some soda, popcorn and nacho cheese to dip your popcorn in oh that is the best. So, good.

Love the movie so sad its the end.   Maybe?  I have  a feeling they might do something with there children now they are grown and there child are off to hogwarts.

Then came home to some butter beer.

Enjoy!

I have told many people this, enjoy the time you have with your little ones teaching them.
They grow fast and its over with before you know it.

Yes, homeschooling is a JOB and must be taken serious.  Its your child education you have on the line.  Yes, there are good days and bad days. But, what job have you ever had that you haven't had good days and bad days.

I know I get ask alot to do this or that because I stay home all day.  I came to the point that I say I may stay home all day but I work. I don't get a pay check at the end of week but I get lots of love and hugs from those who care the most which means more to me then money. (Oh! don't get me wrong money is nice but it sure don't buy you  love), then I say sorry I can't do that during our school hours. But, I would love to help you out later if I have time.

Then I get ask alot what about Socialization. Wow I hate that S word its a bad word at Wolf Bay High.  What is Socialization? Well it can be many things.
I then look at them and say my Wolf Daughters have plenty socialization they know how to interact with people of all ages from brith to 99 or higher.  I tell them they do many things. Why do you need tons and tons of friends. I tell Wolf Daughters all the time you only need a hand full of good trust worthy friends.

Yea, the Wolf Daughters haven't been in public school and wouldn't go there. They don't have lesson in how to take drugs 101 they had lesson and why not to take them.
They didn't have lesson in how to have sex at a early age. They had lesson on why they should wait and get there education first.
I could go on for ever.

But, one thing I have to say is I enjoy my job as  a homeschool mom.  I wouldn't change it for anything.

Second Opinion or not!

Wow! this is a tough one to do..  Should someone get  a second opinion or not. I say it depends on what it is for.

Because when you go for  another opinion you have to pay more money.  I understand they need there money too. But, what happen with good old America where you use to call and ask someone a question about almost anything and they would help you.

Now if you call anyone they want to see you and want money up front before they tell you anything.

We need to get back to where everyone helped everyone and did the best they can. We don't need to charge everyone for everything. Some things I understand but man some things is a  matter of learning and in order to learn you need to find out the answer and not be charge arm and leg for the answer.

I miss the old America where you could go into a store or anywhere and ask someone a question or a opinion on something and get answer weather you liked it or not and not be charge.

Or where you would go ask someone a question and not get into a heated agreement because you don't agree or they don't agree with you.

Lets go back and live where we helped everyone!

Thought we all could use a little prayer.

Father, You said whenever any two or more come together and agree and ask in Your Son's name; it shall be given. We come to You humbly and ask that you bring down the rain to our parched lands. Our farmers, ranchers, and animals need it desperately; as well as our firefighters. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen ..... PLEASE copy and paste to your profile if you feel lead to pray with me.

shopping for new internet services!

What did we do before the internet service?

I know I had more time to clean, cook, work in yard and read. Now I want to spend tons of my time on the net. Shame on me.

But, our net server has been so bad lately always down and not working and when I do get some time to be on the net, I want on and I want to go and not take hours to download something. Just don't have the time.

No one has the time it seems. Everyone is always in  hurry for what? I don't know.

Like I tell everyone hurry up and wait.  That's the point wait for what?

Bring up Memories!

I was ask the other days do you like to bring up memories.

Well my answer was yes and no.   Sometimes bringing up memories are wonderful other times they are very painful. I try hard not think of the painful ones but they do come back to you.

I guess its good to show you life isn't a bed of roses. There are happy times and bad times.

It shows us in order to get through some things you have to work for it and sometimes its not good.

It shows us people don't live forever so enjoy them while they are here.

It shows us people do change so give them a second changes.

Don't judge until you meet them again and talk to them.  I know its hard to believe but people do change.

It shows the world is different we all believe and do things differently that is why there are tons and tons of things out there to do. We all don't like doing the same thing. Thank God or it would be a boring world to live in.

It shows you shouldn't judge people for what they wear, eat, drive or live in.  Or what they read. There are tons of things out there and everyone does it different. Don't make them right or wrong.  Just makes them human.

Check all bills!

Wow!  Can't believe its come to this and so many dishonest people out there in the world.

But, please check your bills every month before paying them.  I know it takes more time but it can save you several dollars a month.

Last few months I been taking extra time to do that and saved our family around $200.00 dollars. I don't get what is going on.

First it was the cell phone bill, they were charging me for things we don't have and never used. Its not even on our phone. That was over $30.00 a month.

Then it was the Dish Network bill saying we were download movies and charging us. First of all we have no land line so can't do that either.  Got that fix.

Then it was BANK yes the BANK  will kind of the Bank not really there fault. If you have any monthly bills taken out of your checking account watch them too. I mean check your on line banking at least three times a week or more.

We have the newspaper and netflix taken out of there.  I really don't like it I like bills coming in the mail so I can see what they are charging me for and why?  Well last month I was looking at my bank statement on line and newspaper went up $30.00 dollars a month I said what.  Well you have to call the newspaper because you have no paper bill to check it over and they had to look things over on there end. Took them a week to find out they were charging for 4 months of papers. Ok that is fine then don't take anymore out. They said they wouldn't. Then next week  bingo did the same thing. Well I stop that baby fast. I drop the card and numbers of my bank card. Now they have to send me paper bills.  They are suppose to take $6.00 out a week not $30.00.

I really don't think I will do bill paying on line. I like to look over all our bills  and it shows why I do.

$200.00 is alot of money now days and for people trying to take it. Yesterday Daddy Wolf and I were watching our local news when the BBB man came on and he said that cell phone company's are number one for charging people things they don't use and get away with it, because over half the people never look at there bills.

SO, please take the time and do it. Could save you all a few bucks.

Call me old fashison....

Ok Call me old fashion that is ok.   I don't know if I am old fashion or just a homeschool mom.

Well the other day we took oldest Wolf Daughter to college to check over the class she will take in fall. We ask for  a catalog  that showed all the class.  The lady looked at me like I came out of dinosaur age or something.
She then stated sorry we don't do catalogs  no more. I said how do you know what the class are about, she said you need to go on line.   I looked at her and said what if you don't have a computer. She then gave me another funny look and said you need to go to library and use computer then.   WOW!  where is the time going?

I love looking at books and catalogs in my hand.  I guess I am not ready for a computer in my hand all the time. I like to go to bed read a book (hard book) not one you have to upload on a computer and hold in your hand.

I guess I am old fashion.

I don't want to read or hear on the news that the new kindle or whatever you have to download your reading books are causing cancer. Like the cellphones.

Maybe with time I will get out of it. I don't know.

How to get Started Homeschooling your kids!

A wonderful homeschool friend showed them article and told me to share it with anyone else I know who could use it so going to pass it on to my blog readers.   Good article.

By Netanya Hoffman
The idea of homeschooling your children may be a daunting task. But once you've made the decision that homeschooling is right for your child and for your family, here's how to get started.
The first thing you need to do when you want to start homeschooling your children is to find out the home schooling requirements and laws of your state or region. You can find the laws and home schooling requirements of your state at the HSLDA's Web site.
Next you'll need to do research on homeschooling. Your local library is a wealth of home schooling resources. Other parents who homeschool their children will be an invaluable resource to you as you take on the home schooling challenge. While homeschooling will require a great deal of amount of work on your part, you can make the burden easier by pooling home schooling resources with other homeschoolers in your area and finding out what has already been successful for seasoned homeschool parents who have been doing this for longer than you have. Look online for support groups, blogs and forums where you can collaborate and brainstorm with like-minded homeschoolers.
When you first decide to start homeschooling you're going to have to come up with a homeschool curriculum. Of course, your homeschool curriculum will depend on the grade level of your child. You'll need to incorporate reading, writing, math, science, social studies, geography, and history. For a well-rounded education, you'll want to include things like arts and crafts and music in your homeschool curriculum, and don't forget your child's physical education! Keep in mind that different children have different learning styles. If your child is a visual learner, you may want to use pictures, movies and slides in your teaching. If your child is an auditory learner, music and rhythm will help her or him connect better to your homeschool curriculum. If s/he is a tactile learner, try to incorporate more hands-on lessons that involve writing, drawing, building, creating and moving around.
If you want to school at home, you're going to have to set a daily schedule for your child or children, much like a regular school day if they were in a classroom setting. Planning a beginning and ending time to each activity is important, whether you decide to schedule specific subjects at specific times or just block off general time slots for "academics," "hands-on projects," etc. Don't forget to schedule in time for snack, lunch, and recess! You'll want to schedule the "three Rs" (reading, writing and 'rithmetic) when your kids are most alert. You can leave crafts and projects for the afternoon when they're running out of steam and have a harder time focusing on facts and figures.
Simultaneously homeschooling children of different ages and grade levels can become something of a juggling routine. This is where a schedule becomes particularly essential. Make sure that when one child needs individual attention, you have an independent assignment scheduled for the other ones to work on. Keep in mind that you're going to have to be flexible when you school at home. You may have to rearrange the schedule several times until you find one that works for your family.
Set up a space in your home that is just for homeschooling. It should be quiet, with few distractions. While homeschooling can be done anywhere from the couch to the floor, you might find that a classroom environment with a table and chairs will be create more of a learning environment and will be more conducive to your child's concentration.
Stock up on teaching supplies and homeschooling materials before you start homeschooling and keep everything organized in its designated spot so you don't have to run around searching for it in the middle of a lesson. Hygloss Products is a great resource for all kinds of supplies, from colored paper, poster board and scissors for crafts to science kits, counters, flash cards and everything in between.
An essential part of home schooling that you might have overlooked is the necessity of keeping records of your child's progress. There are several ways you can go about this. You can purchase a record-keeping system to keep track of exactly what your child is learning. You can keep a portfolio of your child's work. You and/or your child can keep a journal of what s/he has learned and accomplished, as well as memorable events and activities that have happened throughout the homeschooling year. Finally, you can jot down lesson plans, projects and activities in your daily planner and then go through it several times a year and write up a summary of the lessons and subjects you've covered.
There is no "right" way to homeschool your children. There are many homeschooling methods, such as the Charlotte Mason Method, the "Traditional" School-at-Home Method, the Classical Education Method, the Montessori Method, the Waldorf Method, and others. You'll need to do some research to find out which homeschooling method fits best with your philosophies, your routines, and your children's personalities and learning styles.
Homeschooling your children takes real commitment. You have to be motivated to get the ball rolling. But once you learn how to homeschool, you'll see for yourself how rewarding it is. Both in terms of your children's education and in terms of maximizing the time you spend with them, you'll see that home schooling your children is worth every bit of effort you put into it.

Is there Free Homeschooling?

Well we had this talk the other day with some other homeschooling friends, about is there really a thing as free Homeschooling?

Well I say yes it can be done free or cheap.  Others agree cheap but not free.

Well a few years back we came on some really hard times and we couldn't afford anything. We were thinking we were going to have to put the wolf daughters back into public school because we couldn't afford books.  Well I was talking to another wonderful homeschool mom who had tons of books that she gave to me to use so I could keep going teaching the wolf daughters. We were so happy. So, that year it was a free year. ( I thought!).  We had tons of paper, pencils and pens so we need nothing else.

So, I thought it was free.  It felt free to me.  But, then one girl said it wasn't and then I thought about it and guess she is right.  You see I bought the pencils and papers time ago.   So, it cost me something.  Then they stated if print anything off the net and use your ink it cost too.

Yea they are right but a lot people, like me don't look at it that way. We feel since you have to buy ink any way to use for other things and you need paper, pencils and pens its things you need and we don't look at it as school things.  But, once I thought it over they are right its true.  But, to me it was the cheap way then.

So, no its not free to homeschool. But, there are tons of way to do it the cheap way if you need too.

Sad, Sad, Crazy World We Live In.

How in the world can they find Casey A.  non- guilty.   Then people wonder why this world is going down.

I know alot of people say that Caylee drown in the pool it was accident. Ok if it was accident why didn't you call 911.  Why did you carry the body around for awhile in the car? Then dump her little body out in the woods for animals to eat. Like she was nothing.

I am so sad today. I hope and pray that someday Casey has to answer to someone.

R.I.P. little Caylee... I  hope and pray you are in a better place where people love you.
