I review the book: Life Without Limits, By: Nick Vujicic

I had the change to review the book Life Without Limits by Nick Vujicic . What a wonderful, powerful man he is with alot of strength.  I really enjoy the book.

Nick is a very good writer, very positive.  When I read the book I would of never known he was born without limbs if he didn't say so. He is one strong and powerful man, out there to help others.

He talks very little about his self  and his feelings it seems someone is always worst off then him.  He has a lot of strength and will.

I enjoy reading about all the places he been too and how the people treated him and what the area was like. Made me feel like I was right there with him.

I really enjoy the book and wish him all the luck in the world it was a great book.

Thanks so much for letting review this book.

Teaching Textbooks!

We started with these books when the Wolf Daughters were young and went all the way through them and love them..

They are very good books.   They are right to the point and give enough problems for the children to work on after they explain the work for the day.  Yes, someone talks to them and goes through a few problems with the children daily, then they have there work they do when he is done talking and going over the work with them.

It comes with Workbook, CD's and answer key.

If you haven't had time to check out the Teaching Textbook I say take time and go to the website and look them over they are worth every penny.

Both Wolf Daughters loved the program and understand all of it well and it showed by Oldest Wolf Daughter's Math grade for entering college.

Wolf Daughter we knew you could do it.. what a great job.  We have many good memories to carry on.  We had a wonderful time.  Yes, some  days were hard but like I always told you what job isn't hard.  There are always little bumps in the road we have to climb to get to the top. Sometimes it takes more work but when we get there we are so happy we did it.

Life is just now beginning for you baby girl.  We are here for you and will help you in every step of the way.   Remember just because one door close, doesn't mean we can't open another door.

Love you girl... you were a joy to teach. I am going to miss it as much as you are.

Another windy day on the home front!

The weather man told us today light winds and then breezy tomorrow.

Well living on the coast its always windy.  I love the wind though, keeps things alot cooler and more pleasant to go outside when you have too.

Love the cool breeze off the ocean through you hair.  (wow!) if I had hair that is. The darn lady who cut my hair last time got happy with her cutting.  I am glad she was happy.

I know this summer or I should say a few weeks I will wish we had breeze to cool us off.  But, I guess we can't have everything or we wouldn't be happy.

Today our kitty Lilo had to go back in for another surgery poor little thing was so scared. They don't know what happen from her first surgery so praying all goes well this time.

Another homeschool day at Wolf Bay High... Baby Wolf in taking a exam in English...  Then off to World History alot going on there to keep us all busy.

Big Wolf Daughter is studying for her last exam of high school. I said this before and will say it again where did the time go. There is no way she is done school no way.

Daddy Wolf's been busy with work and keeping the boat floating here.  Floating got to have have rain to float something,  we do need some rain bad.  I know it will come in its time.

I try to keep busy hoping it will go away, but my head always feels full and light. Wow that is something a women with light head.

If you read this I hope you will pray and help me and a miracle will happen and I wouldn't have to spend big bucks at a doctor office...  I would go if they give you a break for paying cash but they don't.  Why is that?

Homeschool Rocks!

I will tell you the truth when I first started homeschooling  ten years ago. I was overwhelmed I thought there is no way I can do this.  Now we are done with one. Where did the time go?

There's alot of information out there, you can get overwhelmed really fast.  You have to be very careful too.  What might work for one family, might not work for your family.  So, be willing to try something new.  Don't be afraid because you bought the books and its not working that you have to use it all year, no way.  There are tons and tons of books out there you can go get to try.  Might take you a few times to find the right book for you for your child, but once you do it works.

There are tons of websites out there to go too, to start homeschooling.  You can homeschool for free if that is your choice.  You can get workbooks and do it that way.   Lots of stores out there that have new, used books whatever you and your family choice.  Once you done with the books you can pass them on or sell them for others to enjoy.

I remember when I first started out, it was like watching the Wolf Daughters in the cereal isle of the grocery store, trying to pick out there favorite cereal. They would say but mom there is so many to choice from.   Well that is how I felt when I started homeschooling I thought wow there is so much to choice from and so much to do.

One think we enjoyed is to make it fun. We try to had Fun Fridays and that is where we did alot of hands on things or field trips that went along with what we were learning.   Wolf Daughters were little sponges love to soak up everything and ask tons and tons of question.

We know have one Wolf Daughter left to homeschool and get through high school. But, that doesn't mean we are throwing the Oldest Wolf Daughter out to the Wolf's and to be eaten no way. We will help her every way we can through college.

It's a big world out there tons of things to learn and do.

Also remember to take Mommy Time that is so important. On another website I go too and chat with other homeschool mom's who help me this last ten years to get through this. There is a wonderful lady there that always pointed that out to all of us. Its important to take one hour of the day and have Mommy Time.  That is where you go somewhere no house work, no school work nothing. Just do something you enjoy.  Well I will tell you that is very important and helped me alot.
We all need our breaks and this is one time you need a break.

Enjoy them they grow fast.   One thing I learn from all this. When I gave birth to the Wolf Daugthers they didn't come with a book that told me how to raise them or that they grew fast. Because they do really grew fast.

Oldest Wolf Daughter

Oldest Wolf Daughter went to take the exam to enter college about two weeks ago.  Its a long test took them five hours to write it.

She got the results back the other day and pass with flying colors.    Way to go Wolf Daughter we knew you could do it.  We know it was alot of studying and hard work but worth it in the end.

Now, if I could have a penny for everyone who said she would never make it in the world, by being homeschool I would own half of Texas by now.

We love homeschooling and glad we did it.  Wouldn't have done it any other way.

Mom's Job Description

Got this from another forum I go too, this is great. Wanted to share with my friends here.
A lot of people don't realize the work that goes into being a mother. Only a mother knows what a mother really does, and only a mother can tell the story. I've wrote this little tidbit that will hopefully give the rest of the world just a tiny bit of insight on just how hard us mothers actually work!
THE INTERVIEW

The phone rings...

MOTHER: Hello?

INTERVIEWER: Hello, Ma'am. I'm a reporter and we're choosing women at random to give brief accounts of their job descriptions to run in next week's issue of our career paper. Do you have a minute?

MOTHER: Not now, I'm busy!

INTERVIEWER: OK Ma'am, I won't take anymore of your time.

MOTHER: Oh, I'm sorry, I was talking to my two-year old. She's trying to get me to pour her some milk.

INTERVIEWER: Oh, I see. So you're a mother?

MOTHER: I can't just yet, I'll do it in a minute!

INTERVIEWER: Excuse me, what was that?

MOTHER: Oh, my apologies. I was talking to my 4 year old, he needs help wiping his bottom.

INTERVIEWER: Oh, well I'll be brief. First of all, do you work?

MOTHER: Of course I do.

INTERVIEWER: Great! What is your occupation?

MOTHER: I'm a mother.

INTERVIEWER: Oh. But you don't work for pay, right?

MOTHER: I have the highest paying job I know!

INTERVIEWER: But I thought you were a mother. Do you have another occupation?

MOTHER: Isn't that enough?

INTERVIEWER: I suppose. (pause) Well, I'll let you get back to your children Ma'am. I have some interviews to collect.

MOTHER: Wait! Don't you want to hear my job description?

INTERVIEWER: Uhhh.... (Thinking about a potential lawsuit if he should say no) ..... OK, go for it.

MOTHER: Could you hold on just a minute? Let me take care of my son in the bathroom. This should just take a second.

INTERVIEWER: (sighs) OK. I'll wait.

About 5 minutes pass...

MOTHER: I'm back. Whew, that one was above and beyond the call of duty!

INTERVIEWER: I think I'll leave that out of my article.

MOTHER: Good idea.

INTERVIEWER: Well let's hear the job description. (He mutters under his breath), This shouldn't take too long.

MOTHER: I hope you have lots of paper...hmmm. Well, here it goes...

I have the world's most important job. I'm a Manager of Miracles (or MOM for short). I train people for life. I teach them morals and right from wrong. I make sure that they get the proper education that will help them to one day have the ability to rule the world if necessary. I also teach them the small things that go along with good civilization such as good hygiene and manners.

The training process takes a lot of patience and requires me to hold a number of different job titles. I'll share just a few with you for time's sake.

For one thing, I'm a nurse. There are times when my little "trainees" (hereafter referred to as my children or kids), will get scraped knees and little tears will stream down little faces. It is my place to put a colorful bandage on it and kiss it. This has an amazing healing effect. Usually, the child will then wipe their eyes, smile and run back and do the same thing that made them get the scraped knee in the first place. However, there are more difficult times like when my kids have the flu. It is then my place to be on call at any given moment to come and check temperatures, administer medicine, or even hold a barf bag. If I don't get there quickly enough, it may require cleaning messes out of the carpet. I often give up my own sleep to make sure that my child is comfortable.

Also, I'm a referee. Believe it or not, there are times when my little "angels" grow horns. Fights break out between siblings and it's my place to break up the fights and restore the peace.

Sometimes as a MOM, I must be a psychologist. I have to delve into the problems of my children and find the root causes for their behavior and help them change it.

I'm a teacher 24/7. My children are constantly learning from me whether I'm trying to teach them or not. This requires me to be very careful about everything that I do and say, for they learn the bad as well as the good.

Another one of my jobs, and one that I'm really good at is that of an attorney. There are times when the judge, (dad), lays down the law. Although I agree with Judge Dad that punishment must be received for wrongdoings, I look into what caused the child to behave the way they did. I've been know to get "sentences" reduced if the child can present good reasons for why they did what they did. (Judge Dad don't seem to think that this is an attorney role, he thinks it's a soft Mommy's heart).

I'm a chauffeur, a maid, a cook, and.... Reply With Quote

Where are there hearts?

I wonder about people and I am sure people wonder about me.  But, this I never understood from people.

Yesterday I went to the store. Don't you love going there?  Told Wolf Daughters I would be gone for a half hour ended up being gone for over 2 hours ran into a wonderful friends of ours and we got talking haven't seen her in a while.

She had a German Shepard dog who was about 4 years old. The sweeties dog ever.  She was good with the Wolf Daughters loved it when they came out and played, also came and stayed with us while her family went on vacation several times.  Shiner was a great dog.   Yes, I say was.  The other day the owner went to get the mail and Shiner went with her and he usually stays right beside her but she said she don't know what he seen or why he went to the road. She said she never seen the car coming, they were going so fast, they hit Shiner. He died right away. That is a blessing. But, what is sad the people just keep driving and never stop to see how she or the dog was doing.  Now how can they say they didn't know they hit something. Shiner wasn't a small a dog he was over hundreds pounds.

I don't understand how they keep going and not caring.  The owner doesn't blame them. But, they could of stop to help. Yes they were speeding, but still I don't think that bother her has much they didn't stop.  Where  the h--- is there brains.   Good Lord only knows.

Then after that we went to pick our little Lilo who went to get fix, and when we were there a women brought in a dog that was hit.   She said the car never stop once again the dog was in bad shape but was being very sweet about it.  They were going to have to take one hind leg off.

I just want to know where these peoples brains are? Now if they would hit a deer they would call the cops to fill out a insurance paper.  Why do they do this dogs?  Don't they know that most pets are people kids and they are well loved.

When Daddy Wolf and I moved to Texas the first time we lost our first dog to some one running him over.  I never gotten over it.  What happen is I came home from work and open door and Kyle went out running and ran to the road a  car going 55 in a 35 hit him then looked at me smiled and went on.   What?  I was crying and he was smiling.  He just killed my boy, my baby.

Then yesterday after hearing these stories again. I would like to know where people have to go they are always in a hurry.  Then when they hit the dog they just keep going and think nothing of it. Don't they have heart?  Don't they care?   I don't get it.

Next time someone hits a dog, think twice before leaving the accident that could and most likely is someone pet or child.  Yes, I know they get out in the road something and shouldn't but still be nice stop and help the owner.  More then likely they will thank you for it.  They understand dogs go to road sometimes. We just don't understand why you hit them and leave them all alone and hurting.

Go Laugh

Got this from a wonderful lady from another site on go on. Thought it was cute wanted you all to enjoy it.

Gentle Thoughts for Today -
Birds of a feather flock together . . . and then poop on your car.
A penny saved is a government oversight.
The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.
The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement ..
He who hesitates is probably right.
Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.'

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.
The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble.
Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words 'The' and 'IRS' together it spells 'Theirs...'
Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.
When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra.
You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.
One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. Ah, being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.
Lord, Keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth . . .. . . . . .

Japan!!!

By  now we all heard the sad, sad story in Japan.

The earthquake that hit the area.  So, scary. I feel so bad for them all.   Its heart breaking watching the news and seeing them all cry for there love ones. Or watching houses and cars flooding down the way.

We have a wonderful homeschool family over there.  They are ok.  Thank God.  Said they are all scared.  Darn right they are scared they have every reason to be scared. I know I would be.

I hope and pray they all get through this and they it cleaned up and back up and running again.

It will take some time and alot of strength to get through this...

Thinking of everyone over there.

Our little Lilo

Last August  baby Wolf Daughter was in the next big town, visting a good friend of hers.  She called all worked up and said mom I found this really tiny kitty in the tree crying so hard.  I got her down and she is so hungry, we have nothing here can I keep her.  I told I would be right there.

Got there oh my what a cute little thing. Cry I mean it had lungs on it.  Took the kitty to Daddy's Wolf work and showed him then took her home.  She was so loud all the way home.

Got home woke up Oldest Wolf Daughter showed her the new addition to the Wolf family.  We feed her she ate like she hadn't eaten in days.   Fit right in the Wolf family.

Today we took little Lilo to the hospital to get fix.. Poor baby.  She did well they said. They did say she cries alot, yes she does when she can't see the Wolf Daughters. Oh, they ask me one question that I was what? Of course.  They ask me if I wanted to get her anything for pain. What are you talking about of course. We will go pick her up tomorrow.   The Wolf Daughters are waiting till morning to get little Miss Lilo home again.

Daddy Wolf did have a good question tonight at supper table.   Why do they call it fix when you are breaking something?

Gas

Yes,  Gas prices have jump up really high.

But, I seen on facebook where everyone is saying don't buy gas on March 14, 2011 if you don't like the price of gas.

Well will that help?  No you are only hurting the small gas station. They have no control over the prices.

Do the big guys care if you don't buy, no they don't.

They know you will have to go to the gas station sooner or later. You might not buy it on the March 14, 2011. But, you will either buy it the day before or the day after.
We need the gas to get from A to B.  So, they will get your money and gas either way.

So, I don't see where it helps if you don't buy gas..  There has to be other ways to tell them we don't like it. Like they would care.

But, we have to remember when we are doing this we are only hurting the little man.

Do you know that if you want something you have to work for it?

Sometimes I don't understand people at all.  Maybe its a good thing I don't.

There's a family, a young family that lives down the road from us with three very young children. We been to there house many many times. Its a new house under 3 years old. The outside looks fair the inside oh my what war hit it and when.

She is always telling me my house looks great, then she says but then again your children our old. They use to be young too.
Yes, my wolf daughters are older but they never act like that when they were young.

We need to get back being parents to our children, not only being there friends.  I don't mean you have to be mean to them. Love them, show them right from wrong.

Every door inside is off, written on. The younger children who are three go potty where ever they want and it smells so bad. Its so sad. The children have very few toys to play with never see any or books.

When my girls were little they didn't have everything but they did have toys and books to play with. I even sat and played with them.

I don't know if its young parents, I really can't say that because I seen great young parents. But, if you want to keep your things looking nice and not let your children break it have toys and things for them to do beside tv.   Yes tv is wonderful but it shouldn't be a babysitter.  Play with your children. They grow fast and will be gone before you know it.

You had your kids I understand you were young in high school but you should of thought of it when you laid down with the boy what could happen.  I know it was accident and now you want to live and go places with others.  Well hon those days are over.  Now you have kids to think about.

Kids are gift from God.  Help them grow up to be wonderful people.    Show them love and respect and they will show it right back.

Housewife!

The joys of being a housewife and homeschool mom are so precious and wonderful.

I sure miss the days of being with the wolf daughters and helping them.  They grown so fast and both mostly on there own. Yea they need me from time to time but not like before.

We have tons of memories in our banks to keep.

With the new Budget cut in the school my job has cut way down, so I am back home more with the family.  The money was nice helped us alot but sure miss the family and all.

You know the saying can't have the cake and eat it too.  I wonder why?

I know we will be ok and get through any bumps in the road we need too.

Wednesday the Big Day!

Wednesday is a big day for Mama Wolf

Well I don't know if its a big day or not but its a day I don't look forward too.

I get to go put my big butt in the dentist chair,  try to think positive and be strong.

Yes, I hate that chair more then anything in the world.  Yes, I want my teeth to be good and look nice but I hate dentist. Nothing against them, just the place in general.

I just wish I would not get so scared. I try to think positive but once that door opens they take you back to the chair and then you have to sit there and wait a few minutes then they come with all those wonderful tools and the fun begins.  Well I don't know if its really fun.

Wow, I wish teeth were stronger and you  never had to see a dentist. Oh that's not nice then there wouldn't be a job for them. I know they need work too.
Maybe they need strong teeth for those weak ones like me.

Some day my dream is to be strong go there and say hey that wasn't bad.
