Why can't we grow grass as fast and easy as we do weeds?

This morning out doing yard work..  Picking those darn sand burrs out of the yard again.  Darn things keep coming up so fast. Why?

Both Wolf Daughters out helping and they ask the question mom why does weeds grow faster then grass?   I look at them and said thats a good question?  I think we will add that to our school next week as something to do some research on and see what we can find out.

Our neighbor is a older man who lives with is daughter and they can't do there lawn work. His son in law was doing it for awhile and he let it go so bad.  They have there whole front yard covered with sand burrs so we been busy working on there yard too.  But, you can do only so much. Your arms and hands get so tired of pulling and they seem to keep growing as we are picking them.  Darn things.

Enjoying this wonderful weather we are getting in South Texas cool and some rain.   Keep it coming not looking forward to another hot summer. But, take what we have and go from there.

  1. Hi Kris!
I don't envy you all with those sand burrs! Tell the girls to check out God's message to Adam as He was booting him out of the Garden of Eden. Weeds, thorns and pain in childbirth all came in to the world as a consequence of Adam and Eve's sin in the garden. Fortunately, God didn't make the good things stop growing altogether, but our job of keeping things looking nice and having gardens got a lot harder!
